The story was slow and steady. Never got too excited by the story but it held my interest. Really liked characters and would listen to another story by author
Yes, because narrator was so good. His performance added so much.
It was an original concept.
Unwind, behave or else
This story captivated me from word one. Normally I would not read YA or teen but this was so well done, so well written and thankfully ZERO teen romantic angst. It is a beautiful story and I am immediately on to book two!
The narrator did a most excellent job. She added so much feeling to the story and yet it was not a dramatization.
Melanie of course but Miss Justineau (the teacher) a close second.
No but I did look up her other stuff. I think she is one of the best female narrators I have listened to.
No, it was one of the rare books that I did not want to end so I listened carefully and attentively.
This book is so unique. Try not to read spoilers. The "virus" that is talked about is a fungus that I know of and it triples the creep out factor!
One of the most enjoyable listening experiences.
Sean Runette and Mark Tufo make such a great pairing. Sean completely and fully brings to life the characters that Mark has created.
This is such a fun listen. It swept me up immediately and never put me down until the end of the story. I was So SAD to finish the book. You won't regret buying this series. I'm not sure why it says it is a teen book. It certainly is not~ perhaps the story would appeal to teens but it is fully suited for the adult reader.
I have purchased and listened to all 4 books.
I loved this book. The narration was different to be certain but it absolutely fit with the story- read in first person narrative, the main character was a child when she last was around others so her language and speech was very youthful even though years had passed. I found it to be perfectly suited for THIS story.
There have only been a handful of stories where I nearly grieved when they were over and this was one!
I am excited to locate this authors other works.
So so so sad it's over:(
Orange is the new black kept my attention because the narrator did an excellent job it was rather well written HOWEVER nothing really happens. Is kind of like a year in the life of..... It just tells daily details.
I enjoyed this book so much.
The narration was OUTSTANDING! Among the very best narration I've ever listened to.
The story included so many interesting pieces- 1690's law, justice, medicine, prejudices, fears, fashion, housekeeping, cooking, city development... I really could feel the world back then!
At just over 30 hours, it's a bit of an undertaking but I loved it!
The narration was grating, I couldn't connect or even empathize with the characters, let alone like them. In fairness, I didn't complete the title but I listened way longer than I wanted to thinking maybe it would get good. Nope. I really wanted to like this book!
The story lost an awful lot by not having the right narrator. You could hear her breathing and swallowing and her voice was just droning.... I finished the book because the story was good by MY GOODNESS I couldn't wait to not have to hear her voice...
The story was enjoyable and I will keep up with the series. It was typical Nora Roberts- not a bad thing however. The narrator drove me nuts with all her yelling but when she wasn't yelling, I thought she was very good!
I decided to listen to the Shining since King is coming out with a follow up to the Shining later this month. What a great listen! If its been a while or if you haven't read it,DO! It captures your attention from the get go. Can't wait for the follow up!
