A fantastic insight into the Wilson sisters rise to fame & how they survived the fame to become true artists. They paved the way for women in rock & have the scars to prove it.
I almost didn't get this book due to the negative reviews about the accents. I admit they were a bit weird at first but I would hate for anyone to miss this great story due to the bad reviews. I got used to the accents though I don't know why they made that choice. The author has a great writing style which translates well into English. I actually liked it better in some ways than the "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" series. A bit less preachy and better characterizations.
Janet Ian is a truly amazing person. Her talent as a signer, guitarist and song writer is obvious by her music but she's also a great writer. The road to success and back again is inspirational, even to those of us who lack musical talent. I especially liked how she blended her songs into the book, something I've found lacking in other biographies about musicians. She definitely deserved the Grammy for this performance!
