I had so many people (including two grown daughters) tell me THIS was the book and series to listen to this summer....I am so disappointed....where is the story? Why is this girl whining thru the whole book about WHAT she should or should not do? Maybe I shouldn't be listening to it but just reading it with my own voices in my head...She is such a prude to be such a "ho"....but I guess that is what the story is all about....

I downloaded this book because of the high ratings. It is a very historical book if you are interested in the Morman history. Because of this and the contents I hope that everything depicted in this book is accurate. If it is it really puts the Morman religon in a very unfavorable light. I am Lutheran and have never given much thought to Mormans accept that I have work related friends that live in Salt Lake City that are Morman and I really like them. This book follows the religion from the start to present day and also deals mostly with the multiply marriage theory that some mormans go by. It is a long book that at the last 2 hours I have to listen to I am ready to put down and go to my next book. Just a really lot of history and facts that I hope have been verified. If you like this sort of thing you will enjoy.

OK - I downloaded the book because of the high ratings....this is not something I would normally read....trying to get out of my "box". This book "really" made me tired and depressed. I kept hoping during my dog and mine walk that I would get a "happier" feeling but it didn't happen. This is really a good book but not for someone who might be complimiting suicide. Be strong...take it for what it is meant' for. The boy REALLY got on my nerves. I might have taken that gun and shot him thru just to shut him up.

I am an old time Steven King reader and have to tell you this was one of his best. It goes back along the same lines as his early books where everyday people get into horrible nightmare situations. I loved the characters, the narrator and can just close my eyes and see "Big Pink". Mr King - please continue to rock!!!....

This book was not the Koontz best but was OK. I had a hard time following the plot and understanding how the main hero character was able to keep ahead of the villian. Didn't make much sense to me or I'm was just not able to put it together. The ending was just as you knew it had to end but with no real explanation to why everything that happened happened. I have read worse but this is just not the type of book I expected from one of my favorite authers.

I am a book listener and this was the best. I cannot decribe how this book took me into the world of this carnival and took me forward to the book ending. The only downside that I can mention is the VERY end was a little weak. I was expecting more. Still a five star and more. Love the charactors and the narrators. Both narrators are exellant. So real. Thanks to the author and I hope she provides many more just as good as this one. I look forward to them.
