I had mixed feelings about this one. I wasn't sure if it was going to encourage me or throw me in a state of despair. We've all lost someone right?I found the story heartwarming at times, and then conversely puzzling at others. It wasn't the storyline I found puzzling..it was my feelings. Its cleverly done Mitch Albom takes the reader through that journey . In the end I felt.... peace.
The pilot..his journey
Not an extreme reaction, but it was thought provoking
I gave the book to someone who lost her husband of 54 years , almost a year ago...
It seemed to help.
If enough people could grasp the concepts in this book ,we could develop emotional intelligence and even inspire a positive emotional evolution . This hand book of how to avoid the pitfalls of emotional snares should be in every household and be considered as a text book in schools.
Dr Brene Brown. Brilliant
Recognizing the courage it takes to be true to my self and to ignore unworthy critics.
I have bought many hard copies to share with friends and loved ones.
Beautiful Word Tapestry
The Help. Historical story with a soul.
All of them but if I had to choose Bethea
Thoughtful wonder leading to tearful and heart wrenching realizations
I am so impressed with the writing and the storyline that I am going to purchase the hard copy of this book for future reference.
Well written. It cleverly merges two fascinating stories. I will read more Erik Larson, l enjoy his style of writing.
I enjoyed this book and so I bought hard copies gave it to many others. It lifts the spirit. His other book The Travelers Gift was even better. Enjoyed both of his books...and will read The Summit next.
This isn't the genre I would normally choose. It was a mystery all the way through. Although well written...I was relieved to have finished the book. Definitely not warm and fuzzy.
This book was very close to home for me. I am a commitment phobia person my -self considering marriage to someone overseas. The story was well written, funny and it hit every concern a person needs to think about when marrying someone. The in depth exploration of different cultural perspectives on marriage geographically, historically and statistically was very helpful for me personally. I probably got more out of it than most due to my situation..but I believe that there would be less divorce if people would read this before getting married so that they understand what it means.
This book if one of the best biographies I have ever read. The story is told in detail through the facts, the words of Steve Jobs himself , those who loved him and loathed him. You get the full unbiased picture of Steve Jobs as well as a behind the scenes look in to how some of our most influential social technology came to be.
I sure wish I had been handed this book 20 years ago when I opened my 1st business. I would have saved my self a lot of costly mistakes. This book covers everything in a simple way that almost anyone can relate to. If you are thinking about a business or you are already running one..You owe it to yourself to read this inspiring little book :)
I was introduced to this book by my borderline aspergers friend. The book is very cleverly written and the narration extremely entertaining. I am originally from the UK which made it more helpful for me to appreciate the humor and sarcasm directed at the English culture. The story, while clever, seems to lead to an anti climatic close. The names of the characters were bizarre...as were many directions in this book. I am glad I read it..but at times it was tedious for this logical brain of mine.
