"Good book ... Bad narrator"
Cynthia Holloway
The book was great but....
This is the last book I will purchase from this series if it is narrated by Angela Dawe. I love these books and was so disappointed Cynthia Holloway was not reading.
If changes were to be made they should have considered replacing editors instead of the narrator. The errors made in names (Black Dawn) and unless I missed something from many listenings a significant occurrence at the end of Midnight Alley (3rd book) is referred to in the fourth book Feast of Fools as a completely different type of wound over and over.
Please bring back Cynthia Holloway for future books in this series.
"Great Story .... Disappointing Listen"
Someone who has not listened to the first 12 audios of the Dresden Files narrated by James Marsters. I love this series and look forward to the release of more I only hope that
He wasn't James Marsters. Mr. Glover has a fine voice and narrates well ... he just isn't Harry Dresden. I was so looking forward to this book and it was ruined by someone's idea of changing narrator because of time constraints. The decision had to be made by an idiot who has never read a review of the previous audio books and how the people who actually pay for and listen feel about James Marsters.
James Marsters is the reason I signed up for an audible account and started listening to these wonderful books by Jim Butcher. I might not have ever listened to these books which would have truly been a loss. Actually I may have missed out on the entire experience of audio books if it had not been for James Marsters.
John Glover was given a task to fill shoes that no one could. Producers should have waited until James Marsters was available even if the audio book came out months later.
None ... the story like the previous twelve were well written and capture your imagination. Jim Butcher is a wonderful story teller.
GO BACK TO JAMES MARSTERS TO NARRATE. It doesn't matter if there is a delay in publishing because it is worth the wait.
I would purchase this audiobook again if it was narrated by James Marsters. I was so happy when Side Jobs was released for the same reason .... the short stories in the collections by different writers were narrated by someone other than James Marsters and the enjoyment was not the same by any means and those were just short stories.
You don't mess with perfection ... well I guess you do if you don't actually listen to the books which is the only conclusion that can answer the question as to why the change in narrator.
