  • Ghoul

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 33 mins)
    • By Brian Keene
    • Narrated By Wayne June
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

June 1984. Timmy Graco is looking forward to summer vacation, taking it easy and hanging out with his buddies. Instead his summer will be filled with terror and a life-and-death battle against a nightmarish creature that few will believe even exists. Timmy learns that the person who’s been unearthing fresh graves in the cemetery isn’t a person at all. It’s a thing. And it’s after Timmy and his friends. If Timmy hopes to live to see September, he’ll have to escape the Ghoul.

"not scary. but still a VERY good read!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Ghoul to be better than the print version?

yes, especially because they picked a good narrarator, my only complaint about him is that he spoke a little fast at some parts of the story.

What did you like best about this story?

without giving to much of the story away. i really liked how the "Ghoul' was not the only villian in the story, and in my opinion he was not the worst of the villians in this book either. all in all this was a very good coming of age story even though it wasint the scary i thought it was going to be, this book is pretty scary in a way you will only know by reading it.

What does Wayne June bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Wayne June had a great voice and it fit well in the the charactors.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The "Ghoul' isint the only ghoul

    Any additional comments?

if you are considering buying this book you definitly should. if your looking for a supernatural scare like i was then you wont find it here. instead you will find a scare you where not expecting, and a story that is very well written and pretty sad in my opinion. it is definitly a keeper that i will read again in the future.

  • Mile 81

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 32 mins)
    • By Stephen King
    • Narrated By Edward Herrmann, Thomas Sadoski
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

At Mile 81 on the Maine turnpike is a boarded up rest stop, a place where high school kids drink and get into the kind of trouble high school kids have always gotten into. It’s the place where Pete Simmons goes when his older brother, who’s supposed to be looking out for him, heads off to the gravel pit to play “paratroopers over the side”. Pete, armed only with the magnifying glass he got for his 10th birthday, finds a discarded bottle of vodka in the boarded up burger shack and drinks enough to pass out.

    Mary Z says: "Nailed it!"
What disappointed you about Mile 81?

Pretty much everything about this book disappointed me. it started off pretty ok but as "Mile 81" went on it got worse and worse, and by the end of the story i didnot like it one bit. i read books like this expecting to be scared, but buy the end of this i wasint even entertained. especially beacuse the story was based around a MONSTER CAR WHO EATS PEOPLE,, and the end was HORRIBLE. the second story "The Dune" was pretty ok, better than the "Mile 81" story but it was still weak. all in all it was pretty WHACK in my opinion.

    Any additional comments?

if your thinking about buying this...BEWARE!!. theirs no scares or thrills

  • The Haunted

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 54 mins)
    • By Bentley Little
    • Narrated By Dan Butler

The Perry family's new house is perfect - except for the weird behavior of the neighbors, and that odd smell coming from a dark corner in the basement. Pity no one warned the family about the house. Now it's too late. Because the darkness at the bottom of the basement stairs is rising.
