  • The First King of Shannara: The Shannara Series, Prequel

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 48 mins)
    • By Terry Brooks
    • Narrated By Scott Brick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In this prequel to The Sword of Shannara, in which many details of the Four Lands' history are revealed, Druids, horrified by the misuse of magic, have eschewed it in favor of science. But Bremen the Druid studies magic, and becomes an outcast on its account. Bremen discovers that an invincible army of trolls are fast conquering all that lay to their south. Before them come the Nazgul-like Skull Bearers, disfigured and transformed Druids who have fallen prey to the dark arts.

Lucero Mitchell says: "A True Pleasure"
    "A Masterpiece"

I read it before reading the Sword of Shannara since I already played its adventure game version on the PC a few years ago and finished it.

The novel was simply a masterpiece. I could not believe how much emotions were involved in the story. It kept me on the edge of my seat (or bed :) ) most of the time. It's got wars on the scale of the wars in Return of the King and bigger. If you like Lord of the Rings, you'll love this novel.

    Keith says: "My Favorite Audiobook"
    "Very realistic and fun"

Just finished listening to this audiobook. It was wonderful... so realistic despite having elements of fiction. It is incredibly fun and entertaining to read, even if read just as a novel. Reflecting on the book lessons, I realized that many of its revelations are valid even in the world we live in. Many of my questions about life got answered in this book, and it brought me closer to awakening. Enjoy!!!

  • Ugly Americans: The True Story of the Ivy League Cowboys Who Raided the Asian Markets for Millions

    • ABRIDGED (5 hrs and 17 mins)
    • By Ben Mezrich
    • Narrated By Ben Mezrich

Ugly Americans is the true story of John Malcolm, a Princeton graduate who traveled halfway around the world in search of the American dream and pulled off a trade that could be described as the biggest deal in the history of the financial markets.

Marin says: "Great book with an entertaining reader!"
    "Great writing style"

The book had very exciting likeable characters and it was written in a style that sounded realistic.

Very interesting story if you are into finance and economics, or just plain suspense.

I recommend it. The only thing I don't like is the silly music that keeps coming up every section.
