Whenever I have been compelled to write a review, it has always been for the negative. Well, I will remedy that with Folly.
I have never read Laurie King before, so I purchased this book on the strength of Frank Mullers narration alone and have been very pleasantly surprised. A well written, well narrated, great story. I will read more of Laurie King.

OK, I'll jump on the bandwagon. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is not only a great story, but Simon Vance does just a wonderful job in it's reading (as always).
Mr. Larsson's character development is first class and his craftsmanship made me really like and care for some characters and really loath the bad guys. There were several acts of retribution that were very satisfying indeed.
Just buy it, don't worry about keeping track of all the characters. They sort themselves out as the book progresses.

Yet another good book ruined by the reader. In this case, the reader tries to tell the story with the voice of an eighty year old man and fails miserably. I do wish that if Audible provides a sample of the book before we purchase it,then that sample be an accurate representation of what he majority of the book sounds like, not just the introduction. The introduction alone never is enough to know how the reader treats the material. In my case, I know the book interests me, the reason for the sample is to judge if the reader is tolerable. I do feel that non fiction should just be read, no theatrics.

I believe that I would have enjoyed this book more the old fashion way, reading it. The story has potential, although I do agree with Gabriela in that prose is more important to the author than the story. But what made me put this book down is that the reader read every sentence as if it was some profound revelation or an earth shattering concept. I found that in itself very tiresome. I loved Cold Mountain, but feel Frazier's second offering is lacking.

I've been a big fan James Patterson's Alex Cross series, have read them all and enjoyed them all. However, I think it's time Mr. Patterson retired the old boy. I found the constant complaining about having to do his job (that he's so good at)and be with his family to be very tiresome. The whole family thing is far to much in the for-front, making the real story line almost a sub- plot. Yeah, I know Alex Cross is supposed to be a very sensitive guy but in Mary, Mary he is more like a homesick school boy. Alex, retire, go home and be with your family!
