"Disappointed"
I was so looking forward to this book. I have been reading Nora Roberts for years. I may even have read everything she has published. I loved last years "The Search" and "Birthright" is my all time favorite. This one just didn't have it. Maybe I just had no interest in fire jumpers, I don't know. I just know it wasn't up to her usual standard. With that said, JDRobb's last In Death book, "Treachery in Death" was the best yet.
"Interesting history but that was it"
I will remember the name of this narrator. It was awful. I think all the grunts, groans, sighs etc from the narrator might have ruined what little story there was, worth listening to, but I can't be sure. Don't get me wrong. The voice was fine. It was the sound effects that made me want to lose it.
It was an interesting history of The Mexican revolution and what it must have been like to live at that point in history.
"Wonderful!"
I'm not sure I'd say this sequel surpassed the first book, Poison Study, but it was close. Enjoyed both books tremendously. Gabra zackman does a great job narrating as well. I'm really looking forward to the next book coming out next March!
"fantastic!"
This was one of the best stories I've listened to yet! Initially, I skipped over this book, not believing I would enjoy aa "fantasy" type story. It was a lack of new material that caused me to try this one and I am so glad I did. I've listened to both Poison Study and Magic Study several times already and have gotten my two young teens into it as well. Audio books are the best use of an Ipod in my opinion. My only complaint is that I now have to wait nearly a year for Fire Study to come out. Great job by the author and the reader!
