I just love these characters and the feminist viewpoint of the author. So well written with a great vocabulary.
Could hardly put this one down. Myra and Annie cooking up an adventure with the Post gang and a newbie. Glad to see some added characters although I miss it being mostly women. Looking forward to Charles' tale in the next episode. Meanwhile gratuitous violence was so unnecessary and achieved nothing. They reach their goal without needing to have done the last bit. Other than that I loved this book.
If I had known this was really a YA book, I never would have purchased it. Full of pouting, smart alecky supposed adults that sound like teenagers. The narrator has very few differentiating voices so many of them sound alike and often sound petulant. Interesting storyline hijacked by attitudes and immaturity.
This book seems to be an excuse to be praying, asking and thanking the Lord Christ at any opportunity. The story line is weak and predictable. Not an inspirational book at all.
Fantastic all the way around. Great narrator. Actually stupendous narrator. Wonderful story. So well written. Kept me up listening way past when I should have gone to bed.
If you like science or math and have any interest in space travel, this is the book to listen to.
I thought R was poor but this one beats it. Depressingly read too. In R Kinsey just followed along with the idiot ideas of a young woman even though she knew they were off and would be trouble. Not a bright thing for a seasoned detective to be doing.
In W she goes further, being fleeced when she could stand up for herself and say no. Letting people dump all over her. The characters in this book are the worst yet. I have no call to get to know them better or to listen to more of this negativity. Seems like the alphabet should have ended before R. This series is dead for me.
Why an adult with Kinsey's reputation and experience would continually follow an immature ex con is beyond me. Yes it made for some exciting scenes but Kinsey should have stopped agreeing with this woman's antics after the first mistake, especially since most of the time she was doing what this woman wanted without even knowing why or how things were supposed to turn out.
I lost a lot of respect for the Kinsey in this book. I hope future books are more mature and responsible otherwise it is just filling up space hoping to get to Z.
This book is not for the faint of heart. It tells in graphic detail what happened to Jews in Nazi Germany and elsewhere during that period. This book also tells about how the US accepted known Nazi criminals into this country in order to help build a nuclear reactor and bomb and gave them US Citizenship.
I enjoyed the science and the interactions especially Lotte, Max and Vic's.
A good follow-up to the opening book but why did the narrator decide to have Daniel, John and Mrs Dawson whispering all the time? Very disconcerting when others talked at normal levels. Almost shut it off several times but the story line kept me going. If she can't do men then she shouldn't be narrating. All the young boys sound the same too.
I have read and listened to all the Phryne Fisher novels and just didn't think another series by the same author could be so good. WRONG. This one is modern, lusty, funny, and again has a heroine who asserts herself and grows. If you have an aversion to the occult or good sex then stay away. Neither overpowers the story but are interwoven well. The narrator, Ms Siversen, does a great job with all the voices too. Looking forward to listening to more.
I love the narrator. He makes it all so alive. Of course Walt's voice is perfect.
I love the thinking involved and self examination of Walt by Walt and his friends. I love the Cheyenne Nation too.
have listened to several in this series but out of order. Am now filling in.
Thank you Mr Johnson and Mr Guidall.
