"lottery"
very enjoyable and insightful. it'll also make you think about what is really important to make anyone happy. one of the best books released in a long time.
"shogun"
this would have rated a 5 if the publishers used someone who could pronounce japanese words as they should be. even if i don't speak the language, the readers mispronuciations made it difficult to enjoy the story.
"play dirty"
disappointing. very predictable.
"A short History of Nearly Everything"
save your credits....boring. i listened to part 1, hoping things would improve but after listening to the begining of part 2, i surrender. what a waste of 2 credits.
"Pegasus Descending"
i purchased this after seeing the 5 star ratings. i was very disappointed as the story is simplistic and is easy to stop listening to. it would be nice if audible would also have a composite score, say rating multiplied by number of raters or something similar.
"the camel club"
it's amazing that the synopsis of the book is so different from the actual book....it's like the person never read (or listened to) the book.
the story is ok and and has some nice twists but is not in the "can't stop listening" category.
"The Hot Kid"
Save your money. It's so bad, I can't even finish it. The reader ruins it for me. He is boring and doen't make the characters come alive. It started off well but.....
"Black Wind"
Two stars is being generous. Cussler is too predictable. I used to enjoy his books but it is "same ole, same ole". Scott Brick as a reader doesn't help. He is a reader, not a performer. He sounds the same no matter what the book is. I bought this book in spite of him and ended up disappointed. No more Cussler and no more Brick. Save your money.
"Conviction"
Interesting story with good characters but it gets a little to technical about the law during some parts. I had a hard time finishing it.
"By Order of the President"
Slow and predictable.
