Over the last few years I have forgotten what made me fall in love with Nora Roberts books 15 years ago. This book reminds me of why I love her books. Abigail is a survivor and I really fell in love with her strength. Brooks was an amazing perfect match for Abigail. Strong enough to let Abigail be strong and not let it diminish him. This is one of her best books.
As much as I enjoyed the 1st book in the Redemption series I loved this book. I laughed so often and Lucy Rivers brought this story to life just as she did in the 1st book. This was worth the wait and purchase.
I love all the books in this series and I was really looking forward to this book. I don't know if this book fell a little short for me because I had a hard time with the narrator or that I felt the story had no momentum but I was left wanting and had to push myself through this book which is weird as I've listened to the others in this series multiple times because I loved them so much.
I will still continue to get books by this author as I think this book was an anomaly for me and I love the authors work, just not sure I will get this narrator again as she didn't work well for me. I loved the narrator on the other 3 books, I felt they were excellent picks and I enjoyed the change in narrator. I thought it gave each person's story their own voice.
I've loved every book in this series and this did not disappoint. It was the most anticipated novel for me and I was not disappointed at all. All the questions I had from book 2 were answered and I am a definite fan. I am not going to give any spoilers and I can't wait or Picnic's story.
I am a huge Kristen Ashley fan so I pre-ordered this book as soon as I saw it. I was expecting a different book entirely. I'm used to her Rock Chick, Motorcycle Man, Fire Inside books and her writing style that was prevalent throughout the books. In this book I didn't find the normal writing style I'm used to and I was bored with the story line.
I will continue to support KA because she is amazing even though this series is not for me.
I awaited Nash's book with much anticipation and Nash did not let me down. We start Nash's story with drama and get to see quickly how he handles the curve balls thrown at him. Nash is a man easy to love and someone I wanted to get his HEA. There are so many lines from Nash that gave me butterflies and you couldn't help wishing you were on the receiving end of his love.
The only thing about this book that was not as expected was Saint. Being picked on as a kid, let down in the worst way by your first love, her college experience, I can understand why she is such an awkward young woman. Even her family situation makes her reactions more understandable. I just couldn't connect with her the way I was able to connect with Cora and Shaw. If I had been able to feel a connection to Saint it would have made this my favorite in the series because everything else in the book was outstanding. I am on pins and needles for Rowdy and Asa's story I just hope their story includes a female with more than Saint.
It's definitely worth the purchase and I will listen to this book again and while I LOVE Nash I'm not a big fan of Saints.
I found myself drifting off during this book. There wasn't anything that really reached out and grabbed my attention. It's not a bad book or a great one.
I am a huge fan of KA. I went into this book with high expectations as the sneak peak I'd listed to at the end of "Own the wind" left me excited for Hop and Lanie's story.I read this book before I purchased the audible version and I can say this is one book where the audio version did not live up to my expectations. I think if Angela Starling had narrated this book it would have worked much better. Don't get me wrong Kate Russell worked really well in the Dream Man series but this pairing didn't work at all for me.
With that said I didn't listen to the full audio book because I couldn't get past the narrator but having read the book previously I can say this book does not stand out like "Own the Wind" (which I absolutely loved) but in many ways it still worked. I have read reviews that say there wasn't as much excitement in this book but I've come to expect that by listening to the Dream Series. I don't think each book has to be full of drama and/or excitement to be right for the characters. This book flowed well for me and while I wanted to slap Lanie and Hop a time or two It worked for me.
I felt like the first book flowed much better than the 2nd book. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen but nothing came.
I didn't connect with the characters in this book and I was really looking forward to seeing how their story worked out. The way the couple get back together didn't flow with the ending in book 1. What happened to the Amery I fell in love with?
I really wish they had used the same narrators as in the first book. The female vocals left a lot to be desired for me and killed some of the book for me.
I can't say this book made me jump up and down with excitement but it was an easy listen that flowed well and was a good resolution to their story.
If your looking for an easy book to listen to, that flows quickly without a lot of on the edge of your seat drama, this is definitely a good book to pick.
