"A great book"
Over the last few years I have forgotten what made me fall in love with Nora Roberts books 15 years ago. This book reminds me of why I love her books. Abigail is a survivor and I really fell in love with her strength. Brooks was an amazing perfect match for Abigail. Strong enough to let Abigail be strong and not let it diminish him. This is one of her best books.
"Interesting"
I had high expectations of this book but if fell short for me. I felt disconnected from Mary and Damien's story. I expected there to be more heat between them but I just wasn't enthralled like I was with "Tart".
I would buy this book on sale but I don't know if I think it's worth a credit or full price.
"Awesome Story"
This book pulled me in from the very beginning. I loved all the characters involved and felt every emotion of the book. I would definitely recommend this book to others; it's worth the purchase or use of a credit.
"Enjoyable"
I loved Laid Bare and was really looking forward to the brother's story. While this book flowed well and kept me interested it wasn't as spicy as I was expecting. I'm not saying the writing was bad or the premise of the book sucked but I wasn't pulled into the story like I was with Erin's story. I definitely will be listening to the other sibling's book when available but I hope to have some spice in their stories.
"Enjoyable"
This book was just as fun to listen to as Beautiful Bastard. While I didn't love it as much as the first book I enjoyed listening from both POV's, loved the creativity of location and types of encounters and will definitely be listening to this book again. The narrators were a great fit.
This book is worth the purchase or use of a credit. I can't wait to see what comes next from this author.
"Interesting Listen"
I got this book because I loved the first book. The sequel was a complete surprise to me. In the first book I was able to love Nikki and Trinnette despite their flaws but in this book I just couldn't find any love or sympathy for Trinnette, her selfishness and catty behavior made we want to go postal on her most of the time.
Nikki threw me for a loop because I left the 1st novel thinking she would share the truth with Donovan and they would work through it. To find out she had lied was not realistic especially since there was a trial. What rock did Donovan hide under that he never found out about what happened in the past? I also didn't feel an emotional connection with Nikki in this book but I can't really put my finger on why that is.
This book was worth the listen, although I would probably wait to purchase it when it's on sale. I would love to know if there will be another novel for these ladies as the ending of both their stories could easily develop into another book but I really feel their story should be done.
"Worth A Credit"
****Possible Spoilers
Overall I enjoyed the 3rd book in the series and look forward to the next 2 books so I can finally learn how Ava & Gideon's story ends. This was my least favorite of the 3 books for a couple reasons. I felt that some scenes were not fully developed; such as what happened when Ava's dad arrived in New York after he learned about her childhood. I would have loved to know how it played out. Also I felt several twists thrown in that didn't need to be there or were very vague, like what is going on with the co-worker who hasn't shown up for work in days? My last comment on the story as I didn't feel as engaged with Ava and Gideon's interaction. There wasn't as much steam as I expected.
I will definitely get the last 2 in the series because I have to know how it ends. I am glad to have read on the author's facebook page that the last 2 book should be out before the end of the year so the wait isn't so long. It was a worthy listen and a worthy credit even though it wasn't my favorite in the series or by this author.
"Undecided"
When I listened to "On Dublin Street" I fell in love with this author. So when this book came out I quickly purchased the book. While I enjoyed the narrator, I felt she was a good match for this book, I found my mind drifting. While I could relate to a strong woman who does what needs to be done to protect her brother and still care for her mother I couldn't engage with her at all.
I am glad I listened to the book but it won't be one that I re-listen to or make my list of favorites as her first book did.
"Great Listen"
I definitely have to say this story surprised me on many levels. I loved the development between the main characters and their evolving relationship. It wasn't instantaneous and they had to work through their pre-conceived ideas of each other. I really enjoyed the narrator and I didn't feel the voice changes between characters were too close to identify each character. As for the physical relationship between the 2 men, it was very tastefully written.
If your looking for a book that is action packed and center's around the law and taking down a drug dealer this story is not for you. If you are looking for great character development and an engaging story then this book is well worth your credit. As I was looking for a great story this book definitely exceeded my expectations.
"Easy Listen"
If you are looking for a light easy listen this is a good choice. It was easy to listen to and flowed well. The content was very light hearted and the characters were easy to like.
"Yummy"
I was not sure I would purchase this book based on the 4 person love triangle but I took a chance after reading the reviews and I am so glad I did. In my opinion this is a hard story to write and make it sustainable but Maya Banks did an awesome job. I love that it wasn't easy and they all had to work through growing pains as well as dedicate themselves to making the relationships work. Maya Banks did a great job at showing the complexities that would come with this type of relationship. I also enjoyed that the story wasn't just about the sex, although there are some great scenes. I think Adam Paul was a great choice for the narrator, I don't think I would love the book if it had been narrated by a female. I definitely would recommend this book to others.
