I really enjoyed this book. The Strong family values were very apparent and it was great to see this couple go through struggles and come out on top.
I absolutely loved book 2. It was gritty and raw and kept me on my toes. Book 3 fell short for me. I don't know if it was fitting 2 sets of stories together in 1 book or that I didn't connect to dirty's character that leave me disappointed. It was worth a listen to hear the story but definitely won't be on my must repeat list. The Tatiana Sokolov's did an amazing job with the narration.
I'm going to be the odd one on this review as I am no more in love with this one as I was on book 1. I don't want to spoil the book so I will say that I didn't find it realistic how you cut yourself off from someone then jump back in full force without talking things out. It felt like something a teenager would do.
Just didn't work for me.
I don't know why I just couldn't connect to the characters in this story; especially after reading the reviews and seeing others enjoyed this book. The narrator did a good job but I kept drifting off and after a couple chapters I changed books.
I bought this book with trepidation after I'd read some reviews. This book is not packed full of adventure compared to the other books but it worked for me. The chemistry between Brock and Tess fit and after I got past the initial understanding this wasn't close to her other books I enjoyed the book for what it was. It's not my favorite from this author but I laughed often and enjoyed this easy listen.
I did not love this story as much as the first 2, I had high expectations for Will and I was let down at how his story rolled out. I can't put my finger on what exactly was missing but I didn't connect to their story.
The narrators did a great job portraying their characters.
I wasn't sure if this book would stand up to the 1st one, but I loved it just as much. There were scenes that had my skin crawling and scenes that melted my heart. I am excited to listen to book 3 & 4. This is definitely a book that I will be listening to again.
I chose this book to branch out and try a new author and I was very nervous to listen to this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found myself connecting with Marcus more as the book went on and event though there were parts of the book that felt slower than others I am very pleased with this pick.
While I won't be jumping up and down in love with this book I definitely enjoyed the story. The narrators were awesome for the main characters and I was engaged throughout the story. The things that keep me from making this a 4 or 5 star book is I felt their relationship developed too quickly to feel real to me. One minute he's being a complete jerk to her and the next she's in love. If the relationship had developed slower I would have bought into their love better. As it is, this is an easy quick listen.
I bought this book because it was on sale and I wanted to try a new author. I thought the book was just ok. I couldn't really get into the main characters. It felt like a girl playing a roll that I didn't feel was truly her and a man that I couldn't fully see as a submissive. He didn't feel like a true submissive, especially when he kept trying to assert his dominance. So overall these 2 characters didn't work for me at all. I have not finished the book but maybe someday I can get through the entire book.
Maxine Mitchell did a good job as narrator.
I don't know why I just could not get into this book; most likely it's due to the story being centered around kids and I have a hard time getting into a story that feels like something my teenagers would read instead of me.
On a positive note, I liked the narrator and am not saying this is a poorly written book just not something for a 30+ year old reader who needs more depth in my books.
