"serious but interesting"
This story is not light and entertaining, but I am glad that I listened to it. It really did make me think about how society sees persons with mental challenges, or any types of handicaps or differences for that matter. It also said a lot about how important companionship and friendships are. Don't expect to feel better after listening to this book - it's not a feel-good book - but I think it's worth listening to.
"The action in this book would make a great movie."
It's a little hard to listen to action being described and this one has a good deal of action. I think it would make a better movie than a book. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but as I continued to listen, I grew to like the main characters enough to want to find out what happens to them. The whole concept of people having special "powers" is very intriguing and makes for a good story. I'm not sure that I will continue with successor books in the series, but I did enjoy this one well enough.
"Wonderful story, very enjoyable!"
I liked everything about this one -- the characters, the story, the references to famous people that I knew of, and the narration. I would definitely recommend it if you like a good story!
"Great characters, very enjoyable!"
I would definitely recommend this one. I liked the story and the characters and enjoyed the narrator's accent as well. The book made me feel good and that's my primary goal when reading or listening to books. :-) I loved rooting for Dodger and his successes!
"Loved it! The writing is very well done!"
I enjoyed listening to this book! I love the writer's style -- she describes things very well and made me feel like I was there. The story was entertaining and I looked forward to listening to it and missed it when I was done with the book. I would recommend it and will be looking for other Kate Morton books to read. There is a good deal of jumping around in time. At first it seemed annoying, but as the story went along, I got used to that and it actually worked pretty well.
"Not a bad listen."
Certainly not one of my favorite books, but it's not bad. If you're looking for a story as told by a dog, I certainly preferred "A Dogs Purpose". But I did like the characters in this story and enjoyed listening to it. I feel like I learned some lessons about positive attittudes and how to endure thru the toughest of times. If I was a big fan of race cars, I probably would have enjoyed it more.
"Wimpy story wrapped around porn."
I listened to all the Shades of Grey and loved them all. But was so disappointed in Bared to You. It's a very wimpy story wrapped around explicit details of vanilla sex....again and again...and again.... Everyone in the book is beautiful, which is also very annoying. Didn't like it at all and would ask for a refund if that was an option. The narrator did a decent job in spite of the story.
