Richard Forthrast created T’Rain, a multibillion-dollar, massively multiplayer online role-playing game. But T’Rain’s success has also made it a target. Hackers have struck gold by unleashing REAMDE, a virus that encrypts all of a player’s electronic files and holds them for ransom. They have also unwittingly triggered a deadly war beyond the boundaries of the game’s virtual universe - and Richard is at ground zero.

Great story. Believable characters. Long story, which I like but at times it got confusing. The individual plots were strong and I think Stephenson did a superb job tying it all together. It was great story. Worth the time.

Kitty Norville is a midnight-shift DJ for a Denver radio station---and a werewolf in the closet. Sick of lame song requests, she accidentally starts "The Midnight Hour," a late-night advice show for the supernaturally disadvantaged. After desperate vampires, werewolves, and witches across the country begin calling in to share their woes, her new show is a raging success.

Love the characters. It's also a different twist on the vampire/werewolf relationships. I see lots of possibilities for the storyline to evolve. Kitty has a personality that is likable with lots of room to grow.

Even having hundreds of closed cases to his credit can't keep LAPD police lieutenant Milo Sturgis from agonizing over the crimes that don't get solved - and the victims who go without justice. Victims like Katherine Hennepin, a young woman strangled and stabbed in her home. A single suspect with a solid alibi leads to a dead end - one even Alex Delaware's expert insight can't explain. The only thing to do is move on to the next murder case - because there's always a next one.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

    Story

This was a great story with a different twist. The characters were very well written and hung together throughout the book. Wil Wheaton is great at narrating and I'd have to add him to my list of narrators who would sway me towards purchasing a book. The characters were so well developed that I immediately missed them as soon as the story was over and that doesn't happen a lot.

    Story

Once again, I was riveted once I started this book. I love these authors for their Pendergast novels but have to admit that they're awesome whatever they write. The story is different and the plot is one that wouldn't be on my list of favorites to read, but I was wrong. Strong characters, who I got to know early on and many surprises. I'm a dedicated "listener" reader and more than once, I went back in the story to reread something I'd missed and I don't do that with too many books because the plot is so predictable. This one wasn't!
