Webmind is an emerging consciousness that has befriended Caitlin Decter and grown eager to learn about her world. But Webmind has also come to the attention of WATCH - the secret government agency that monitors the Internet for any threat to the United States - and they're fully aware of Caitlin's involvement in its awakening.

"belongs in the teenage angst bin"
    Overall

Interesting ideas, lame presentation/story. If I wanted a teenage love romance novel I'd read Twilight. Such a shame that Audible has such few good Scifi titles. I go to the bookstore and there are whole shelves of good scifi.

Was hoping this would be similar to a john scalzi novel. It's not. Schoen has some interesting ideas, but they're never allowed to take root.

A few of treason's ideas in a new story. Well done. Can't wait for the next story.

"I could do without the x rated content"

I thought the ideas were top notch, but like I said in the title review I could do without the graphic description of some of the sex scenes. The book had some very interesting ideas, and for the most part made for good listening.

I was hoping this book was the end of the series. Instead the story just meanders along. I'm done with this series.

It's an alright story, but not worth all the hype. Reads like a Stephen King novel, but without the gore and sex.

Has some interesting ideas. The story was a bit choppy. The language and the graphic nature of the book was a bit much for me.
I wish it had been reviewed by other audible members before I downloaded it. I didn't even bother to finish it, even after slogging through the garbage. I kept hoping that there would be some interesting twist. There isn't.

Set a few decades from now, Rainbows End is an epic adventure that encapsulates in a single extended family the challenges of the technological advances of the first quarter of the 21st century. The information revolution of the past 30 years blossoms into a web of conspiracies that could destroy Western civilization. At the center of the action is Robert Gu, a former Alzheimer's victim who has regained his mental and physical health through radical new therapies, and his family.

Environmental devastation and economic chaos have turned America into a land of horrifying depravity. Assault, theft, sexual abuse, slavery, and murder are commonplace. And a zealous, bigoted tyrant has won his way into the White House. Directly opposed is Lauren Olamina, founder of Earthseed - a new faith that teaches "God Is Change". Persecuted for "heathen" beliefs as much as for having a black female leader, Earthseed's followers face a life-and-death struggle to preserve their vision.

David says: "Powerful, dark sequel that stands on its own"
    "worth reading"
    Overall

Not a really fast paced book, but the story does move along. In the middle of the book I was annoyed with the amount of time the author spent on theology, "Earthseed". But as the story progresses it does make more sense.

John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First, he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce - and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So, we fight, to defend Earth and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding.
