The Lion is a brilliant follow up to The Lion Game.
The story is very fast paced and had me hooked right from the start. Once again I loved the main character John Coreys humour.
I hope there is more of John Corey to come.
I really enjoyed Whitethorn.
It did have some disturbing parts in it but if you can get past those parts it is a brilliant story. The way Bryce Courtney tells the story through the eyes of a young boy is just so entertaining.
I shared this book with my 60+ Mother and 90+ Grandmother and they both loved it, so much so they have listened to it more than once.
It took me a while to get into this book but once I did I didnt want to turn it off. The main character John Corey might not be to everyones liking, (he has a very dry sense of humour and doesnt seem to take anything seriously) but I loved him. I shared this book with my 60+ yr old parents and they thoroughly enjoyed it too.
The only problem I had with this book is that I wish it was longer.
I love the John Corey character and have been waiting (not so patiently) for another one of his books to come out so when I found this one I thought I would give it a go even though it was less than 2 hours long.
It was a fun quick paced story full of the John Corey trade mark smarta#* sarcastic remarks and dry humour.
I really enjoy Molly Harpers books and this is no exception.
The characters are smart and witty if not a little accident prone and I always find myself having a laugh out loud to their antics.
If you like the Jane Jameson books then Im sure you will enjoy this one too.
I have to agree with some of the other reviews, this is not the best Rachel Morgan book. Rachel seemed to be having a whine at every turn about her life which I found a bit dreary.
And like some of the other reviewers I felt a little lost at the introduction of a couple of new characters, I kept wondering if maybe I was missing some of book 9 when these characters were 'introduced' because they just seemed to pop out of nowhere.
I would still say that if you are a Hollows fan then buy it, its not the best in the series but if you are like me and love Jenks and Al then it will give you a bit of a fix while you wait for the next book to come out, but maybe wait for the price to drop a bit ;)
I was thrilled when I discovered that there was another Jane Jameson book. If you have heard the other books in the series and liked them ( how couldnt you like them!) then Im sure you will enjoy this one too. Jane is her usual sarcastic, witty self and trouble has found her yet again. And once again Amanda Ronconi does a brilliant job bringing the story and characters to life.
I just hope there is more to come.
This book would have to be one of the most gripping stories I have listened to. Right from the very start it had me wanting to hear more. The Narrator did a spectacular job telling the story, the voices and affects he used really drew me in and had me on the edge of my seat. I cant wait to hear the sequel.
