I could listen to this narrator read names out of the phone book and I think it would be excellent. But luckily, this book was a little more interesting than the phone book. I am so glad there is a new #1 Ladies Dectective Agency book out, I was beginning to have Mma Ramostsway (sp?) withdraw. As always it was a charming and excellent book.

Despite all of the appalling things that happen in the Nightside, I have come to look forward to the next book and seeing what else is going to happen there. I love the idea of a flipside of places, like the London Below from Neil Gaimen's Neverwhere I like this hidden world that is known to only a special few. John Taylor is a utterly cool anti hero that always saves the day, even if he has to do difficult things in order to do it. Another good story. I like that Suzy Shooter is being more developed as a character.

Please please please please write another book. And please please please have Jim Dale Narrate it. I have found this series utterly charming and engrossing. The much more psychological and in depth look at Peter Pan and the complexity and loneliness of what it means to be Peter Pan is a remarkable spin on this beloved classic. It is a greatly three dimensional back story on a literary character that I never really thought much about. I was truly sad when the book ended. it is creative, well written, funny, fast paced and engaging.

Narrated by Jim Dale is like putting butter creme icing on a cupcake, it just make something already wonderful even better.

Another fantastic story of hero kids overcoming great odds and discovering that they are extraordinary, after a life of being an outcast. Love stories like this. Another creative and innovative story that kept me listening.

And the narrator is Jim Dale, what more needs to be said. Brilliant beyond what words can describe. he makes each and every character unique and alive. I can't wait to listen to the next book.

I somehow missed this book in high school and college and even in law school. But I am glad I finally got to it. It is a stark tale of race relations and "justice" in the early days of segregation that, sadly, has not changed enough to make the story a remote portrait of how it used to be in the United States. While clearly we do not like in the same openly racist society as the characters in the book, the inequalities for people of color in our justice system persist, though to a lesser extent, today.

at least we have moved away from the time that a judge can sentence someone to death and have that sentence carried out within months. The book is a dichotomy of a picture of how far we have come and not come at the same time. I am glad I read it.

Also a dear friend once told me that he always held Boris Max as one of his legal heroes. I can see why. He is a great portrayal of what it means to truly be a defense attorney. He was committed and fought for his client, who was difficult to fight for, all the way to the end.

Jim Dale has got to be the best narrator in the history of narrators. He is so magnificent I could literally listen to him read a phone book (do they even make those anymore?) and find it riveting. When you add in the fact that he is, in fact reading a rather exciting and charming story that is unique and engaging, it makes for such a brilliant combination and a book I wanted to keep listening to. The story was well written and I loved the characters. I also quite love stories where somewhat outcast children/teenagers are the heroes/heroines. The fact that the other good guys and bad guys were statues was very creative. I also love stories that creates parallel supernatural dimensions, if you will, to real life. This story was about another London inhabited by spits and taints, Statutes on buildings, gargoyles and other carvings that come to life and can only be seen by a select few. Like Simon R Greens the Nightside or Neil Gaimen's Neverwhere with its London Below, this book tells the story of yet another London. I cannot wait to listen to the next book.

So much about this book I didn't see coming. It is diabolical and frustrating and I couldn't stop listening.

He has an amazing voice and I love listening to him. This is a re-telling of Macbeth and it is brilliant. It makes me want this author to re-write all of the Shakespear classics so I could listen to the wonderful stories without the tedium of old English...

Jim Dale could read a phone book and make it interesting, however when he reads an amazing book with unique and complex characters with a fantastic story the result is nothing less than mesmerizing. Just as he breathed life into the wondrous characters of Harry Potter, so does he give life and depth to the classic characters from the magical children's story of Peter Pan. This is a rewrite of that classic tale with particular care and attention to the emotional and psychological intricacies of the characters and a brilliantly detailed backstory of all the classic Peter Pan adventures.

I cannot recommend this series enough. You will never look at Peter Pan the same again.

I really enjoy this series. John Taylor, His teenage secretary, Suzy Shooter, Walker and the rest of the gang are always up to shenanigans. These books are very light and fun. They are fast moving and they are a great distraction from real life. This is another great book.

This is the 3rd book in this series and I just love it. I cannot wait to listen to the next book. They keep getting better and better. Jim Dale is a master narrator and gives each character a unique voice without seeming forced or contrived. The story itself is brilliant and this whole series really explores the classic characters of Peter Pan, The Darlings, the Mollusks, and even Captain Hook and Smee in a very charming and unexpected way. It really explores the back story of why Peter will never grow up, How they all came to be on the island and how it is no accident that it is the Darling's window Peter ends up in. Probably the best series I have read since Harry Potter.
