At 23, Ruth Saunders headed west with her 70-year-old grandma in tow, hoping to be hired as a television writer. Four years later, she's hit the jackpot when she gets The Call: the sitcom she wrote, The Next Big Thing, has gotten the green light, and Ruthie's going to be the show-runner. But her dreams of Hollywood happiness are threatened by demanding actors, number-crunching executives, an unrequited crush on a boss, and her grandmother's impending nuptials.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I work nights, and listen to audio books every day. I must say I had trouble keeping the headphones on.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending was good. I am happy that good prevailed.

Did First Family inspire you to do anything?

No, really this book is just not my cup of tea. maybe because it involves children and I am a sucker for keeping children safe.

The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.

If you could sum up Beautiful Ruins in three words, what would they be?

    Interesting, entertaining, different

What about Edoardo Ballerini’s performance did you like?

The versatility of his character changes. Every character is so different, and he made every one of them stand out.

If you could rename Beautiful Ruins, what would you call it?

Italian get away, but I wouldn't rename it.

    Any additional comments?

I struggled with this book at first and was 1/3 the way through before I realized I really liked it. interesting through out, definitely keep reading.

Where does Where We Belong rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really enjoyed this book and it did not turn out anything like i thought it would, which is good I guess. love a good plot twist. I dont find this to be one of my all time favorites, but that is because I am ranking it not because i don't like it. I will definitely recommend this book

What does Orlagh Cassidy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

When I hear the narrators voice, that is the determination of whether i read or listen to the book. this narrator is wonderful and helps capture all the characters.

    Any additional comments?

This is a good book, with all the elements to keep you interested and involved.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Would you consider the audio edition of Gone Girl to be better than the print version?

I can't really determine that but I did enjoy the audio version

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

On the edge of my seat and ready to jump off a bridge. This book took very unexpected turns.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listen to books at work, so I could never listen to in one sitting, but this book made me anxious to get to work again.

    Any additional comments?

This story started out like the Laci and Scott Peterson story, so I hated the male role, but WOW Plot twist kept me on edge and unable to predict where this was going.
