I am a Coben fan so I decided to try the re-release of his first novel. I guess some things are just better left on the shelf. Play dead is in a word, tedious.
I realize that there are readers other than Scott Brick, but once you start with reader why change mid stream. McLarty just doesn't work for King and Maxwell.
I finished it. It was not the worst book I have listened to but let's all agree that Dan Brown has told this story and it is time to move on. At times tedious at others a bit preachy. The narration helped keep me going.
Michael Connelly brings another good Los Angeles Crime story with his familiar characters. Listeners have to wonder why the change in narrators? In the previous Connelly books, Dick Hill has a west coast sound. The narrator of this story, Richard Davidson, sounds like he is from the streets of New York. Did anyone tell him that this story is about characters from Los Angeles? Strong Connelly story, but the story teller was a problem.
Well, Turow did finish the story. There really were not many compelling, likeable characters in this one.
