"It just keeps getting better and better!"
Sinful, sexy and enticing.
Oooooh...this is a toughie. I'll have to go with Michael. He didn't have the biggest role but I found his character to be very endearing.
I've heard better but I've heard much worse. Her voice lacked sophistication but she got the point across.
Yes, I listened to it every chance I got.
Once again, if you loved the 50 Shades series or Sylvia Day's Crossfire series you're in for a real treat. Tiffany brings erotica to a whole new level combining intriguing story telling with sex appeal.
"Nice Quick Read"
I definitely would. I work on a computer all day so at night I like to just relax and listen to a good book without straining my eyes.
I really appreciated how Mika shared both her accomplishments and mistakes. It's great knowing I'm not the only one who's blundered through my career.
I found her to be a great narrator who was easily understood.
"Beautifully written and unforgettable!"
This book would most definitely be in my top ten. I know the lenth of it is intimidating to some but don't miss out.
I think it's a mixture between Tess of the D'Ubervilles and the Outlander series. Maybe I'm crazy for thinking that but it's much more exciting than Tess and gripping like Outlander. I couldn't stop listening. Tolstoy is such a beautiful writer, I found myself making notes the entire time. He educates his readers while telling a very interesting story.
I'm in love with Davina Porter's voice so it's fair to say I'm biased when it comes to her skills as a narrator. This book is so much more because of her.
I can't say without spoiling the read for you. However when you get to the part you will most certainly know.
I wish audiobooks had been so readily available while I was in highschool. A talented narrator can turn a drab book into something you can tear yourself away from.
"Loving all that is Sylvia Day"
I'm a huge fan of historical romance novels and this one certainly didn't dissapoint. Sylvia's sex scenes aren't the best but the storyline definitely makes up for that. It was exciting with plenty of twists and turns. Marcus' character is endearing and I found myself falling for his entire family.
Elizabeth is my favorite part of the story. She's a very powerful character, not your typical damsel in distress.
The narration was mediocre. I've listened to books read by Justine in the past and I find her voice both pleasing and irritating at the same time. Almost like it's fake. You can rarely tell the difference between characters which really drives me nuts.
No I did not. It was exciting at times but overall nothing extreme.
"Cunning yet predictable"
Not a thing, I buy a book from this series whenever I need a mental break from a difficult or depressing read. It's uplifting and enjoyable.
I wouldn't have changed anything. This is all about one big, happy family.
Angela is quite limited but her voice is very soothing. It's not uncommon for her to get the male and female character mixed up and her accents are terrible.
No...all of the brothers are married now, lol.
Don't expect anything spectacular but you will be content.
"Hold onto your hats!"
Most definitely. It's not entirely believable but that's why I bought it. There were lots of twists and turns with a few laughs mixed in. Lora has a way of describing things just enough without overdoing it.
Risa because she was strong and feisty.
I think that this is one of her best. She really seemed to get into it.
I'm not entirely sure it would make a good movie but I guess I would out of curiosity.
This book will entertain you, no doubt about it.
"Severely lacking and obviously rushed"
Wicked ties wasn't the best novel I'd ever read but it was definitely better than this one. I'm thinking Shayla was in a rush to release this one or something because it's like they were written by two different people. The storyline was painful...truly. Kimber's voice made my skin crawl. The only reason this book is getting two stars is because of the sex scenes, even though most of them were interrupted with ridiculous drama.
The lack of a story.
I'm not a huge Lexi fan. She can only manage a few different voices and like I noted earlier, Kimber's really brought the book down.
Indifference.
I wouldn't waste my money on this one ladies. Wicked Ties had it's moments...this book does not in my opinion. Maybe the third in this series is better but I'll never know.
"Davina Porter makes this lovely book even better"
Naturally the writing style was a bit old fashioned for my taste but the subject matter and innuendos were surprisingly riske and modern. I'd like to complain about the tragic ending but in all honesty I can't. It was refreshing to read a novel that was realistic and believable. Overall the writing style was what I expected and the story was beautiful. You'll be writing down quotes as you go.
It was very interesting to get an accurate interpretation of what life was like for a woman like Tess. I find that as a woman I take for granted what would have saved her from such misery. If you're in the mood to appreciate the small things there is no part of this book that isn't interesting.
Naturally, Tess. She's no Clair Frasier but Davina always brings a story to life.
Tad late for that.
I would definitely recommend this book. Don't expect a rock your socks romance but Tess will stay in the back of your mind long after you finish.
"A sizzling read"
I really liked how strong the heroin turned out to be at the end of the novel. The story itself was interesting with plenty of twists and turns to keep you listening. I must say the sex scenes alone made the book worth reading. You could almost say it was excessive but they were so well written they didn't get boring. I didn't like how long it took for the truth to be revealed either. It made a somewhat believable story overly dramatic and irritating at times.
I've read the second book in this series and in my opinion it was even better than this one. It's next to impossible to find an extremely well written erotica novel but Lora's are far from the worst I've encountered.
I've always enjoyed Clarissa's voice. I think she struggles a bit through sex scenes and I did find myself cringe once or twice but I highly doubt I could do any better. Either way I find her pleasant to listen to and she has a way of making a story exciting.
Absolutely.
If you're looking for a sexy escape from every day life definitely get this book.
"Just what the doctor ordered :)"
Absolutely, it's a very pleasant read. I enjoyed the author's writing style and the narrator was good as well.
This book is definitely geared towards younger adults but I still liked it.
"Endearing with a lot of potential"
I would recommend this book to a friend, if they were into this sort of thing. It wasn't the best written novel I've ever listened to but it had a strong female character (which I love) and an original storyline. Even if it was a bit far fetched and extreme at times, lol. But hey, a woman can dream.
This was my first Shayla Black novel.
I haven't listened to Lexi Maynard before.
Absolutely.
I enjoyed this novel. The characters could have been delved into a bit deeper and the plot adjusted slightly. I wish that erotica novelists would sway from the cliché storylines a bit more. The heroine doesn't always need to be coincidentally trapped with her soon to be lover/saviour/sexual beast for the story to be exciting. Either way this novel isn't a waste of time and as a whole entertained me thoroughly.
