Picture a late-May morning in 1918, a time when Montgomery wore her prettiest spring dress and finest floral perfume - same as I would wear that evening.... Thus begins the story of beautiful, reckless, 17-year-old Zelda Sayre on the day she meets Lieutenant Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald at a country club dance. Fitzgerald isn’t rich or settled; no one knows his people; and he wants, of all things, to be a writer in New York. No matter how wildly in love they may be, Zelda’s father firmly opposes the match....

Would you listen to Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald again? Why?

I would listen again! There are so many things going on that it's possible to miss something the first time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Zelda of course! I was named after her and am in awe of her. During a time when society thought that a woman couldnt possibly be happy if she wasnt a wife and mother. Zelda knew that she had a mind of her own, her own opinions, thoughts and emotions and didnt think anything of expressing her opinion. She was open to new things, unconventional things, egar to experience new people and places.

Which character – as performed by Jenna Lamia – was your favorite?

Zelda.....I loved the first person account and always enjoy Jenna's portrails, she really makes a story come to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, once I got started I didnt want to stop.

    Any additional comments?

Great listen, insite into a faciniating women during a faciniating time.

Twice Claire has used an ancient stone circle to travel back to the 18th century. The first time she found love with a Scottish warrior but had to return to the 1940s to save their unborn child. The second time, 20 years later, she reunited with her lost love but had to leave behind the daughter that he would never see. Now Brianna, from her 1960s vantage point, has found a disturbing obituary and will risk everything in an attempt to change history.

Would you consider the audio edition of Drums of Autumn to be better than the print version?

Cannot say, did not even attempt to try the print version. But I would venture to say that the audio version is much better giving life to the charactors. Hearing the accents an tone of each charactor really brings the story to life.

What did you like best about this story?

The start of a new life in the new colonies, and of course the story of Clairs first surgery was tooo funny!

Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?

    Claire and Jamie.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Again, the outlander book series because of their length but does wonders for daily exercise as I could not wait to get back to my book.

New York Times best-selling author Diana Gabaldon enchanted scores of fans with Outlander, her electrifying historical saga set in 18th-century Scotland. Now this sequel sweeps listeners back into the past as Claire relates more of her perilous sojourn there with her Scottish warrior husband, James Fraser. Twenty years after her strange journey back in time, Claire has returned to Scotland with her daughter, determined to share with her the secret she has harbored since her time travel.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

After a sad and neglected childhood as an orphan, Jane Eyre was hired by Edward Rochester as governess for his ward. Jane was pleased with the quiet country life at Thornfield, with the beautiful old manor house and gardens, with the book-filled library, and with her own comfortable room. But there were stories of a strange tenant, a woman who laughed like a maniac, and who stayed in rooms on the third floor.
