I liked how it showed the change in one expectations of ones own self and surroundings
Simon Vance is a great reader, part of the reason why I listened to this book
Whats really neat about the book it give you a feel of what everyday life is like on the islands of Fiji and Vanuatu.
If your interested in a brief overview on psychology you can't go wrong. Its well written and covers a brief history of the writers life which is a really like cap to each book. Narration is good as well.
James Allen is one of the main Pillar of the self help movement, Read or listen to his works and you will not have to read any other spin offs. The book is full of basic truth and deep understanding of prosperity. All under the same basic principle of his works that "a man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts."
Profound Truth! Prosperity broken down into its most fundamental form. I've read a lot of self help style books and i feel this book slays the rest. Its one of those books you should read or listen to once a year, because it helps you get your mind in the right place. As a successful small business owner i know these words to be a guiding force to live by and i only know this because my father encompassed these traits and lived the title of this book Poverty to Power, but he had to learn these life lessons the hard way.
The information is good! I agree with it completely and it taught me a few good things such as PR over Advertising. i just wish it went into the Entrepreneurial aspects of branding more.
I did.. Lying by Sam Harris. I thought it was excellent, and was the reason i got this book, but unlike lying, free will takes much more than an hour to give it any justice. Even though is book brought up a few good points and perspectives, it really is just an opinion piece that is narrow minded considering the subject at large.
That the truth trumps all and it is the medicine to fix almost all of your problems, only because it gives you the chance to learn from them.
Even the most truthful among us can always use a helpful reminder. this book will do that along with learning a few other aspect of lying that you may never considered a lie.
The fictional Characters in the book might throw you off at first, but as the book moves along it really helps you follow his talking points and makes the book very enjoyable given it relatively dry subject matter
Very well read!
The majority of the book goes over blind spots or subjective fallacies that the majority of the population holds. He makes you aware of these blinds spots in a very methodical way using great examples that will definitively stick with you.
Its explains in depth how a free market system is the best economic system ever created, If you have any doubts about the statement above then read the book :)
