The story has great depth of writing and lost of action. The writing reflects a lot of background gained from the authors time living in India and other southeast Asian nations. The author hails from Australia were he lives now. When younger that author won a few awards for this very series. There is a lot more depth to this series than the Mich Rap, Gray Man, or other like series's ( I have listened to them all).
Dina the narrator does a great job as usual. She is one of my favorites.
According to the author the next books in the series are supposed to be out in September 2013. However, there is no timeline for the audio-books.
I greatly prefer this series to Tom Clancy's current works which have began to show too much political bias.
I really enjoy Joel's story telling and Dina P. is one of my favorite narrators. I have now listened to this book in the series twice and have enjoyed it both times.
This is one of several series I really enjoy.. This not the only book in the series I have listened to more than one time.
I like and recommend the whole series.. It is not as dark and violent as the Jane Yellow Rock, Kate Daniels, and Mercy Thomson series... (I like and am a loyal follower of all three three) I like this series because of the humor and easy flowing story and great narration.
Luke Daniels is one of my favorite narrators. I thought the story is well written and precedes at a decent pace. I am going to now listen to book two and if it is also as good I will be getting book three when it is released later this year...
Recommend you listen to the sample before purchasing... I stopped listening to the book at 5 minutes and will be returning it...
Recommend that you listen to the sample before purchasing.... I am going to return this item.
I have listened to the whole series and would recommend it to readers of all ages.
So I add my voice to the thousands that have already proclaimed this series praises.
I have listened to the whole series and other spin-off books. I would highly recommend all the books in this series. I now wait for anything new from this author and quickly pick it up and listen to it.
I loved the concept behind the story. However, the writing is choppy and the narration could have been better. Both of these improve in book two and three. Note: I just got done with listening to the the four book Aragon series. As a result, I had very high expectations. In the Aragon series both the writing and narration were vastly superior to this series. Another thing I did not like about all three books in this series was the amount of explicit sex. If I want porn, I will read porn... This is not a series for young teens, and for sure not pre-teens.
If you like space operas with lots of combat and well written battle scene then both this book and series will be for you. I love this series and would place it on par with the Lost Feet series by Jack Campbell. I also enjoy the Narrator. Though I would recommend starting with book one.
If you like military SiFy and other series like the Mike Shepard's -- Kris Longknife and Jack Campell's -- Lost Fleet series's you will like this one. So far the Author has written nine books in the series and Audible has only three of them...
I will quickly pick up all that are added in the future...
