In the third book of the "Bloody Jack" series, unlikely heroine Jacky Faber, a pirate at heart, returns to the sea in a truly swashbuckling tale filled with good humour, wit, and courage. After leaving the Lawson Peabody School for Young Girls in Boston--under dire circumstances, of course - Jacky boards a whaling ship bound for London, where she hopes to find her beloved Jaimy. But things don't go as planned, and she is off on a wild misadventure at sea.

Eileen says: "Best book in the series (so far!)"
    "Great tale, great narrator."

I continue to love this series and narrator. I recommend it for all adults and young adults (and children whose parents don't mind some allusions to sexual situations that will mostly go over their heads, and are never on stage or involving the main character).

Are you ready for some football? Then you're ready for Some Enchanted Season. Kevyn Llewellyn needs a god. She must have exactly the right model for Darius: Warrior-God of the Gray Planet, or she'll lose the contract to illustrate the rest of the series. When she sees him - none other than NFL football player Rusty Rivers - she does the absolutely logical thing: she kidnaps him. Or rescues him…it depends on whom you're asking.

She's an artist with a painful secret. He's a football player with an embarrassing past. This story is both fun and poignant, and the reader did a wonderful job of expressing both.

Paisley Vandermeir was born on a hippie commune, transplanted to high society Manhattan at the vulnerable age of seven, and finally rescued and nurtured by her wild Aunt Izzy, whose Roaring 20s exploits still tarnish the family name. Paisley is the very definition of a "Vandermeir scandal" waiting to happen. It's simply a matter of what and when. Now, it's Christmas in Manhattan and Paisley Vandermeir has a scandalous scheme to set herself free from society’s expectations once and for all.

He's a duke. He's a mathematical genius. He can't talk and he's locked in a lunatic asylum. Only a modest Quaker girl can reach him, but when she helps him to escape, she's swept into his glittering aristocratic world, her life torn apart by his desperate attempt to save himself.

Flowers from the Storm is one of my favorite historical romance novels, and this audio treatment totally exceeded my expectations, much less my hopes of how wonderful it could be. Nicholas Boulton's voice and characterizations are sheer perfection, and do this beautiful story justice.

Jack Langdon has always suppressed his talent for sorcery. But his marriage to Abigail, a skilled wizard, ignites his passion and opens doorways he never imagined.

    Gurmukh says: "A Light Read"
    "Mediocre Execution of Good Premise"
    Overall

The premise -- wizardry existing in Regency England and young boys having it beaten out of them so that they won't shame their families -- is really strong. Simon Prebble, as always, did a fantastic job as reader. However, I thought the execution of the story (the actual writing) was only so-so. I'm not sorry I listened to it, but I can't give it a strong recommendation.

If you never have enough time, this material is for you. Most people suffer from "time famine" - there's more to be done than there is time to do it. Making list after list with no end in sight, your only accomplishment is frustration. The motivational speaker and creator of the highly successful Franklin System, Hyrum W. Smith, shows you how to organize your time and how to organize your life. By applying The 10 Natural Laws, you will increase productivity and you will increase inner peace. As a result, every aspect of your life will manifest greater satisfaction.

    Overall

Yes, this book is largely about using the Franklin Planner. But I read the book almost ten years ago and bought my Franklin Planner, and the two combined to be life-changing for me. I have ADD and lived in chaos before this system. I wish I'd found it sooner.

So, if you're not interested in the Franklin Planner (now combined with the Covey system) you probably won't want this. But if you really need help finding sanity in the chaos of your life, you might want to give it a try.
