Anne Wynter might not be who she says she is.... But she's managing quite well as a governess to three highborn young ladies. Her job can be a challenge: in a single week she finds herself hiding in a closet full of tubas, playing an evil queen in a play that might be a tragedy (or might be a comedy; no one is sure), and tending to the wounds of the oh-so-dashing Earl of Winstead. After years of dodging unwanted advances, he's the first man who has truly tempted her, and it's getting harder and harder to resist.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

was not time well spent. He is rich, aristocratic, handsome…. she is poor but beautiful and educated.. and of course the immediately fall in love. Why to borrow from many stories already written and better than this. Take Vanity Fair for example…

Would you ever listen to anything by Julia Quinn again?

Alex Goodwin tackles everything from curling tournaments to high-stress bakery jobs to incredibly inventive (in the wrong way!) midnight tours of Igor’s castle to the hardship of aglet manufacturing to the satisfaction of homecoming (even if that home happens to be a bomb-testing field in the Death Valley).

Following a scalding row with her mother, 15-year-old Holly Sykes slams the door on her old life. But Holly is no typical teenage runaway: A sensitive child once contacted by voices she knew only as "the radio people," Holly is a lightning rod for psychic phenomena. Now, as she wanders deeper into the English countryside, visions and coincidences reorder her reality until they assume the aura of a nightmare brought to life.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Maybe for younger reader, but for them it maybe too slow moving.

Would you ever listen to anything by David Mitchell again?

    yes

How could the performance have been better?

This book has too many characters with no charisma, and the story would not have been changed if they had been cut out. So many unimportant details that add nothing to a story or to knowing better a character. The book’s ending confirmed my one star rating for it.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment
