"The Drums of Autumn"
Fantastic book, number 4 in the series. I love Devina Porter as the narrator. I wish the next two books had been unabridged! I will read the books rather than to listen to the abridged version. And I do not like the other narrator that I listened to on the samples. The first 4 books have been the best I have read (heard) in a long time. I recommend them to all, expecially the adult ladies. Rather sexually explicit for young girls. I feel like Jamie and Clair are part of my family. I shall miss them, now that I have finished these four books. PLEASE, PLEASE bring to us the UNABRIDGED version of The Fiery Cross, and A Breath of Snow and Ashes!!!!
"Book would be better than the audio."
I loved the story, as I love to read/hear Nora Roberts.
I enjoyed the way six people were drawn together and bonded by "fate".
No. Her Irish accent and her speaking so fast made it difficult for me to hear the words and I had a hard time differentiating which of the characters were speaking. I had to continually rewind and re-listen to be able to follow the story line.
Not really
It is a good book. Perhaps with a different narrator, I might have enjoyed it more.
"FUN and enjoyable"
The images and imagination it invoked.
Shawna and her adoptive mother.
She brought the characters to life for me.
No. I enjoyed thinking about it in-between listening.
I am waiting to buy the sequel.
"Nora Roberts books are always great!"
No. I enjoyed it, but the listening was difficult. I had difficulty differentiating the characters from each other.
Her books are always good. This one wasn't as easy to guess the ending as her books usually are.
I couldn't tell whether the men or the women were talking. She needs to change her tone or deflection more. It was a little confusing.
"Great read!"
All of it. I enjoyed Ms McCormick's reading and the way she changed the tone of her voice in different areas. The story was thrilling and I could hardly put it down.
I don't think so, but I have now listened to Book 2, and have downloaded Book 3. I can hardly wait to start listening to it.
The high emotions of the players and the way I could visualize the story line in my mind as I read it.
I wish there could be a Book 4!
"I was a little disappointed"
I did not like this book as much as I did the first one. The story line was kind of boring, but I will continue to hear the next book in this series, because I love the way Dean Koontz writes. The narration was still good.
No
"Dean Koontz is an awesome author"
I didn't read the print version, but I loved the audio.
Yes. so many twists and turns and the ending took me by surprise!
I guess it was the last chapter. I am excited to continue reading about Odd Thomas, although I am disappointed that the next book in line, "Forever Odd" is only 8 hours long. I prefer longer, more involved reads.
I liked his mentor, the professor, the one with 6 fingers and obese. He wasn't perfect, or handsome, but fitted perfectly in his role. I liked his mind.
"Excellent read"
I loved the detailed information and the way it gave us historical facts in such an interesting way.
The way it was written
Yes...his autobiography. This one was more interesting.
The description of Lincoln's death.
"My opinion"
I loved this book! And after I read some of the reviews about the narrator, Richard Poe, I was concerned that his sometimes "breathless" voice might distract me from the characters, but it was just the opposite. He was great, and he spoke just like many people that I talk to every day. The book was action packed, and the only thing that kept me sane, was that I had read other books by Dan Brown, and I knew that he would not let the hero/heroine die...Just when one problem seemed to be solved, another popped up. Great read/listen. I didn't care if the politics were accurate or not, or if the scientific data was accurate...it is fiction, after all. I recommend it 100%.
"Gail's opinion"
Fantastic, entertaining, and the narration is perfect! I feel like I was right there...in fact, in the continuing series, I feel like they are part of my family. Best book and following series that I have read (heard) in a long time.
