Fasinating story and characters; amazing how well they did with investigations with very little tools in the day.
Absolutely drew me in from the first listen. So much here that I didnt know when it was going on. Sadly disturbing; you want to hear the "why" and no one still really knows. Compelling listen!
Ok, I admit it. I only ordered it cause it was cheap. But what a simple story, but very well written and read! Dont be afraid of the older books written in older times. I was so pleasantly surprised!
So glad I found out about the true story and sacrifice of these "boys". Very well written and narrated.
I've always been intrigued with the Jonestown massacre. This book gets you right into the details of everything that went on. Its sad, but also shows you just how easy some people can be hooked into the "false prophet" scenarios.
As accomplished as Janice is, I just didnt feel the story was that interesting. I dont want that to take away from any of her struggles or accomplishments. I didnt feel she was very effective as a the narrator either.
You have to respect the research and time he puts into his books. Its a very deep story and you have to pay attention as there are lots of characters, but it has good suspense, some humor, and a great overall story!
This is such a realistic portrayal of what would happen in an armadgedden situation. It makes you step back and think how dependent we have become on the government and our electronic gizmos!
Listned while I was mowing and couldnt wait to mow so I could finish it!
I would recommend the book, but not audio version. The narrator sounded rehearsed, not natural. It convinced me to get the other 2 versions in print.
Im new to audio books and narrators, but Im sure they could have done much much better!
