"Scientology- A religion or a Scam??"
This is a very informative book. Assuming it is true, LRH is an incredible individual with the power to convince people to follow him despite his numerous faults which included bigamy, kidnapping, excessive lying, and a tendency to elevate himself above the "crowd". And that is only some of his faults!!
The detail to which the author described LRH
Yes, very much so in my opinion
LHR's continual lying about his WW2 service record.... and the absolute proof that he was not where he claimed to have been. He was no war hero, but instead a coward.
This is the second book I have read about Scientology. This is much better researched and informative. Great read!!
"A boring way tto tell an interesting story!!"
A better reader. A story which flowed. This was a boring presentation
Didn't anyone know this is why kids hate history in school??
I would avoid it like the plague!!
Dismal disappointment.Great topic ruined by boring presentation.
Yes, I strongly recommend that this book be removed from the library.
"Growing up an Indian in today's world"
incomprehensible to whites
Going to the Prom
A teenage voice and perspective
No
Interesting story- one which whites will have a tough time believing.
"Outstanding Read!!"
Fascinating story of an immigrant who faced so many obstacles and overcame them to become a well known and revered chef in the US.
His first impressions when he first got to the US
He has feeling and sentimentality.
The racial bias he encountered in Nice when looking for a job
One does not have to be a "foodie" to appreciate this story!!
"It is nice to "see" Odd Thomas once again!!"
As with all Odd Thomas books the story is way out there!! Once you let your imagination go, you will enjoy this book!!
It was fine, just took a leap of one's imagination to buy into the basic premise!!
His performance was very good in my opinion
Well, I know I won't be staying at any old homes in Northern California for quite some time!!
Odd Thomas is a cult unto it's own. You either like it - and read the entire series, or you hate it and only read one book. I enjoy the escapism.
"Too ancient a reference"
Nice business book for an MBA student.
The theory was fine. The examples were dated and boring.
No idea
Yes, the overall theory holds today.
"Lot's of promise, but a disappointment"
Just seemed to repeat and repeat the same thing throughout the reading. Dull, uninteresting and lacking in the things I wanted to hear. The book cited several examples of successful use of the author's techniques which I found completely unbelievable and contrived. Sure, a spy is going to give up his previous life of spying for another governent with a mere question.... uh, huh. Yup. Not in my lifetime!!
Actual examples of alledged incidents could have held promise
He did fine, but the material was repetitious
Interesting premise which could have been provided within an hour!!
I don't recommend this one to my friends and family!!
"Outstanding Read!!"
It was a fast paced history of the entire plot to kill Lincoln which might not transfer to print as well as in Audio format. Audio made it more intense in my opinion.
The details of the plot and the involvement of so many others in the attempt to remove the Union/US Governemt leadership.
One other, it was a good but this was much better.
I believe the death scene of John Wilkes Booth moved me. I never knew that so many people were in pursuit of him.
I would recommend this to anyone with historical interests in the Civil War or the life of Abraham Lincoln.
"The Gitmo Innocent"
This is undoubtedly one of the most bias accounts of the Gitmo prisoner situation I have ever encountered. If, as the author asserts, all the Afghans in custody are innocent goat herders and shop keepers I have to assume we should be looking to provide other folks like Hitler, Stalin and Osama the Congressional Medal of Honor.
If ever there was a case for sending an American born Afghan back to where her roots are, this is it.
Pure garbage with a tinge of traitor in the mix.
