"Nice book, GREAT narrator"
The book is really nice, very entertaining and full of crazy mind-twister ideas that will make you think!! But what I admired the most is the narration; the narrator is really great that I will search for books narrated by him to listen to!
"Great Entertainer"
It shows you that you can actually like a serial killer personality! hehe
Nothing mind provoking; just entertaining.
"Full of bulls***!!!!!"
It's basically this guy who tells stories of miracles that Yoga practitioners were able to do (including blessed self, of course), without ever explaining what is Yoga. He keeps mentioning "through special Yoga techniques" without mentioning what are those special techniques.
I can't believe that Steve Jobs read this book once a year; it's in general superficial and has stories that would drive you nuts for how stupid they are.
Do yourself a favor and just forget it.
"An unexpected stretch for The Hunger Games"
I loved how it used the games but moved in a completely different direction.
Finnick Odair; can't say why or I'll ruin it for you.
If you read this book, you have to continue with Catching Fire (not self contained like The Hunger Games), but then Catching Fire is disappointing. If you don't like to be disappointed, don't read Mocking Jay.
"Great, but not as great as 'Speaker for the Dead'"
I didn't like the ending, but it has pretty good science fiction (although it goes too far at the end).
A great aspect of the book is that it suggests a scenario of how religion can be a big lie and how everyone will become conditioned to believe it, even the top leaders of the religion themselves. In this case, someone made the lie and everyone then believed it and they were locked in a world were no one knows the truth.
"A very weak and uninteresting story"
Nothing; this is not a small annoyance, the book is simply an amateur's work.
Xenocide by Orson Scott Card
Don't waste your time.
"Not more than a nice fable!"
No; it is too simple. (can be good for small children)
Most interesting: it slightly touched on the contact between cultures
Least interesting: too superstitious
Nice; becomes boring.
Although all it advertises is to follow your personal legend, it does so with a bunch of simple stupid proofs of how life conspires to assist you to get to your goal if you intend to. It is all bs though.
