Whatever happened to Calico Joe? It began quietly enough with a pulled hamstring. The first baseman for the Cubs AAA affiliate in Wichita went down as he rounded third and headed for home. The next day, Jim Hickman, the first baseman for the Cubs, injured his back. The team suddenly needed someone to play first, so they reached down to their AA club in Midland, Texas, and called up a 21-year-old named Joe Castle. He was the hottest player in AA and creating a buzz....

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend this book to an avid reader... The story line was clean and smooth, great ending, good moral to the story.

What does Erik Singer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great tone and smooth voice, without a lot of silly accents and voices.

Could you see Calico Joe being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    James McAvoy

    Any additional comments?

Not much of a baseball fan but the story was as good as Field of Dreams.

His potential heirs, to no one's surprise - especially Troy's - are circling like vultures. But Troy shocks them all when he leaves his fortune to an estranged, illegitimate daughter.

Where does The Testament rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It rank amongst the best... the story teller John Grisham is as always amazing, The narrator is a great at tone, and keys, notes, almost like a musician tells a story with music, and lyrics. Narrators voice was just the perfect tone at the right time.

What about Frank Muller’s performance did you like?

The incomparable master of the legal thriller takes us deeper into the labyrinth that is the American justice system, always drawing us in with an irresistible hook, pulling the thread of tension tighter and tighter, and then knocking us out with a conclusion that's never "by the book". Maybe that's why, after more than 20 years of consecutive number-one New York Times best sellers, a new novel by America's favorite storyteller is still a major publishing event.
