"Butterfly Frail"
With all certainty, T am sure it will lead to greater things by Nabokov.
The reading of the Cantos Poem and the reader,s display of his great voice, all of Audible's telling of this great book is wonderful, for sure magic.
There is not a particular scene of merit, Nabokov goes on and on and each momemt if studied is a thrill in each novel he creates.
I read this book very much younger, like with Lolita I could not find the pace of the information, now as my experience in the library increased, I love his writing. One must understand Nabokov, he teases one for reaction only, which he knows a studied reader will enjoy, I always laugh, hand over mouth not to insult him, but the whole experience is fully an act by both me and the writer, a very personal thing, he being the genius, of course. I love Nabokov for years, my confession to all, he never fails me!
Nabokov asks me to spend every molecule, of many, of my restless mind with a net gathering frail butterflies, as his example, in this he teaches the ways of life which are simple for complicated wanderers, like me and you.
"Missings"
I need more time to read through this one.
Add about 10 characters, enough with the I, I, I's
You know after much thought I decided this could have been better if read off the pages where there is no voice to distract me. Some books are like that I guess, sorry the story needs concentration off the stage.
Made me realize that we all read in silence, of a closet if necessary, we want to be alone, that, incidently is why I read, me and my book, the travel alone is exciting. Theater is different, I would go to hear Richard Burton's voice in Macbeth, hearing characters on a stage in London is really thrilling.
Thanks for the thoughts of why I read, never did before, it's because I love to travel alone, you can take on as another character. Between chapters you also can dream, some, oh to dream!
"The Reader"
Yes for sure silly, you added Kate Winslet!
Camille, Lady of the Camellias, inspiration of many art forms by Dumas.
Whem Kate Winslet describes taking the potion of a man that says she must before he takes it and how much he disguts her with hts filth!
No, seven hours takes me two sittings.
Splendid Kate Winslet, the reader being thriller of stage and screen now fills rooms, the whole house actually, her grand voice it flies precise occuping each word of the classic story, with amazon at the mooring. Thank You! lol
"Tradition"
This is my first and best so far!
Beloved, Told of a life of intensive love, it was a tradition of the heart with no formal dress. It was the mother usually that was the bearer of said heart that fronted a raw battle daily, every minute of that day, children, the strong belief dictated, were the primary hope for a better life when strict lackof judgements had faded the color barriers and the folks that held them. Then this general tradition would be no more and all can have their share of a good life as promised from heaven in the beginning. Some traditions grow strenght others are brought upon by others who are weaked by hatred and seek power upon the backs of others.Their always is the tradition will be violated by chains and walls of those that don't understand what chains are for and rather sing in groups.Where is the wrong in that.
I must review it again after hearing for a second time, all of it is very warm I feel.
Belief of Fathers
Glad I spent the time, the reader is surprisingly great.
