Dr. Temperance Brennan looks forward to her first vacation in years. She's almost out the door when the bones start appearing. Most puzzling of all are the bones discovered at a remote farm outside Charlotte. The remains seem to be of animal origin, but Tempe is shocked when she gets them to her lab. Why are the X rays and DNA so perplexing? Who is trying to keep Tempe from the answers? Someone is following her, and must be stopped before it's too late.

I am a fan of Kathy Reich and have read all her books and listened to all available too but this was a disappontment. No real suspense, the science was nothing new and the romance was boring.
I also dislike this new narrator. She does not have the same kanck for accents that the previous narrator Kateherine Borowitz does.

When Lyra and her daemon Pantalaimon decide to spy on a presentation her uncle, the commanding Lord Asriel, is making to the elders of Jordan College they have no idea that they will become witnesses to an attempted murder, and even less that they are taking the first steps in a journey that will lead them into danger and adventure unlike anything Lyra's unfettered imagination has conjured up.

This book is great, everything an audio book should be!. The story is great, the narrator and the full cast are marvellous. I can't wait to listen to part 2. I am an addict!

  • All Is Vanity

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 25 mins)
    • By Christina Schwarz
    • Narrated By Blair Brown

    Story

Widely celebrated for her debut novel, Drowning Ruth, Christina Schwarz once again proves herself to be a writer of remarkable depth and range. All Is Vanity probes into the mysteries of the human heart and uncovers the passions that drive ordinary people to break the rules in pursuit of their own desires.

    DH says: "Strange Bedfellows"
    "These people are too stupid!"
    Overall

I loved Christina Schwarz's earlier Drwoning Ruth. This book was totally disappointing. While the writing was ok and the narrator did her best I could not stand the silly self absorbed characters. The point of view switched which was refreshing but not enough time spent with Letty to relieve the drivel of Margaret's life. Buy Drowning Ruth instead and listen to it twice!

  • A Beautiful Mind: The Life of Mathematical Genius and Nobel Laureate John Nash

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 11 mins)

    • Narrated By Anna Fields

    (40)
    Story

John Nash was a mathematician teetering on the brink of international acclaim, but he fell instead into madness. Saved by the love of a beautiful woman and the loyalty of the mathematics community, he went on to win a Nobel Prize and worldwide fame. This is his true story.

Peter says: "Reality is often more interesting than fiction"
    "Math to create brainache"
    Overall

The only reason this book does not get a full 5 stars from me is the math involved in the story. Nash truly deserves the nobel prize if he understands it all so easily. Everything else was great. Even though it was 18 hours, I was sad when it was over. Much deeper and more detailed than the movie. Narrator was excellent too, just stick with it until after the intro and it will be less "shrink talk."
