Graham Greene’s evocative analysis of the love of self, the love of another, and the love of God is an English classic that has been translated for the stage, the screen, and even the opera house. Academy Award-winning actor Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, A Single Man) turns in an authentic and stirring performance for this distinguished audio release.

What made the experience of listening to The End of the Affair the most enjoyable?

This is a fascinating, though very unusual, story, beautifully read by Colin Firth. Not everyone's cup of tea, with serious questions about love, hate, god, life and death. Thought provoking.
Graham Greene is a master at this sort of tale, told from the thoughts of the protagonist, and Firth made it all seem very real. My wife loved it, too.

Would you recommend The End of the Affair to your friends? Why or why not?

Some, but not all - probably not my Catholic friends, and certainly not to the ones who read popular novels and such.

What does Colin Firth bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He reads it perfectly, separating the characters without to much of a voice change; reads with appropriate emotion without being histrionic. Very believable.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Tough film to make, and certainly wouldn't be commercial. Can't say, really.

    Any additional comments?

    Nope.
