"Terrific follow up to book one."
Yes, Allison McLemore adds a lot of flavor to the telling of the story
This was my first book featuring zombies living secretly among us, So no comparison - except for the first book "My Life as a White Trash Zombie.' Both terrific, fun stories,
Haven't heard her on anything else, but I would definitely give her a listen.
"This is gonna be a nope..."
More story, this was just about to get interesting and it was done.
Yes.
Too dramatic, and she sounded younger than the 13 year old in the story.
There wasn't enough of the story to cut!
"OK"
The reader is a little overly dramatic, and the stories are so short they are more like essays , but I did enjoy listening.
"Blerg"
Badly written and badly read. Nuff said. But I need 15 words, minimum... so how's the weather?
"Dud"
People who enjoy books sympathetic to sociopaths.
The story didn't pull me in and make me understand why Cyrus felt the way he did. I'm not sure if the idea behind the story was to make the reader hope the main character dies a horrible death or to create sympathy for him, but I kind of wanted him dead. I wasn't sure who to root for. I think the emphasis was too heavy establishing Cyrus was 'different'.
Too slow!
Irritation!
"Ho Hum"
Really disappointing effort from Rob Zombie. Whole story was just background for gore. What did I expect? Gore, sure but storytelling would have also been nice.
"Could have been 5 stars....."
I wasn't prepared for the book to completely skip Grunuaile's training! I spent the first chapter in mild shock over missing 12 years of Atticuses life (hence the 4 star review). But I pretty quickly recovered and moved on, since this was another fabulous Iron Druid story.I was riveted to my speakers right up to the OMG ending! Kevin Hearne has a powerhouse of a series here, and I hope for at least a dozen more stories!
"Excellent Creep Factor"
Jonathan Maberry is one of my favorite authors. GRB was part creepy classic, complete with dark woods and shadowy cornfields, and part thriller with bad guys and guns - but it was just too dang long. There is a terrific build up to the action-packed showdown, where all factions in the story collide, but at that point it's too prolonged and the momentum is lost. I'm hesitant to finish the series -I really want to know what happens, but I'm afraid it might take to much time.
"Interesting story told well!"
Even though at times I itched for the reader to get on with it already, Ari Fliakos kept the perfect pace for Penumbra. Half way through I still didn't know what the book was about but I was enjoying the story as it unraveled at it's own pace. Penumbra was well written, and well told.
"Sorta like Sh*t My Dad Says @ the Zombie Appoc~"
Yes - great story -good reader!
Mike! He's got big stones, but he's very realistic
Captures the author's sarcasm!
Laughed aloud many times!
Just bought book 2! Can't wait!
