So how do you top the perfection of Mo and Cooper’s hilarious story in the first book of this series...well add even more wacky werewolves of course! The “Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf” is as Mo would say, “Funnier then a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.” Beginning a year after the first book and focusing more on the pack territory of Crescent Valley and less on Grundy, Alaska the story is a nice new perspective on this funny group of characters. Maggie, Cooper’s sister or Scrappy Dappy Do to Mo, picks up and tells her story. As the new and very cocky Alpha for her pack she is trying to help the pack settle down from the years of turmoil that are finally resolved in the first book. However, a mysterious stranger has moved into town looking to “research” the possibility of whether or not werewolves exist. And much to Maggie’s dismay the multiple PHD, Star Trek loving, Zoo Anthropologist looks like a yummy Viking and smells like Turkey Dinner! Nick’s determination to prove that werewolves are real threatens to undermine her family’s secrets but her mating instincts keep pulling her toward him anyway. He is fascinated with her snarky personality, natural beauty and is equally drawn to her. Although she is determined to marry a wolf she is torn and Nick’s quirky nerd personality coupled with his rugged physique calls to her as no one else has before. Nick refuses to be sidetracked by Maggie’s multiple werewolf suitors and his charm is hard for her to overlook. As if that isn’t enough to drive her nuts strange “accidents” start happening around the valley and Nick always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time proving that keeping her secret and protecting her pack is going to be very hard. Given Maggie’s act first, bite, tear, stomp and then ask questions later history it’s a fun ride watching her learn to have to work out her issues. Can she trust Nick with her secret? Who is attacking the pack lands? Are they trying to remove her as Alpha or is the pack itself in danger? With the help of her fabulous supporting cast of wacky werewolves there is never a dull moment or lack of humor. Cooper, Mo and Kara from the first book play roles in this book. But the addition of her cousin Sampson and the rest of the pack really make this book fresh and not just more of the same. If you prefer a new “couple” in each book then this is the Molly Harper series for you. If you prefer following a character/couple over a series then check out last Monday’s blog on Ms. Harper’s other series. Regardless, if humor and a fun easy flowing plot is your thing you can’t go wrong with either series. These aren’t so much as steamy but more of a fun ride. I listened to both of these on audio and Amanda Ronconi did an excellent job. I give this one four chocolate dipped strawberries!

So if you are like me the suspense of waiting for Molly Harper’s Jane Jameson Book 4 is killing you. So I was thrilled to find that she has a spin off to hold me over until the much-anticipated release of Book 4, Nice Girls Don’t Bite Their Neighbors, coming on February 28th. Please be sure to check back as I’m sure I’ll review it as soon as I get my hands on it!

In the mean time….Driving Mr. Dead is a wonderfully written story and adds two new fabulous characters to the wacky cast of Jane’s friends. Miranda Puckett is the daughter of Half Moon Hollow’s most prominent old money family but unlike her family she is not a lawyer nor is she a successful businesswomen. She has failed at every job she has ever had in fabulously tragic and hilarious ways. But she has picked up some random skills along the way and hopes that maybe, just maybe those skills will help her as she takes on her newest career – a long-distance vampire transporter. A job she took trying to get as far out of town as possible while she tries to decide if she wants to give her lying, cheating fiancé another chance.

Collin Sutherland is the most persnickety, stuffy, handsome vampire that Miranda has ever met and his 16-page transportation contract rider can’t help but rub her the wrong way. But as they set out on their National Lampoons worthy trip Miranda’s knack for trouble seems to find her and Collin must quickly learn that contingency plans are necessary. As their trip spins further out of control their need to work together, laugh together and find a way to get home only helps to ignite the undeniable spark between them. Their chemistry and the lessons learned along the way quickly have Collin rethinking his solitary life style and reveling in the chaotic fun that is Miranda!

In true Molly Harper fashion this story will have you laughing, crying and cheering all that the same time. There are appearances from some of our favorite Jane series characters that make for some really great scenes. Once again, I listened to this on Audible. Amanda Ronconi just does such a fabulous job that I always gravitate to her audible format over the print format. This book can easily be read as a stand alone and doesn't have to be read as part of the main series. It seems to fall in between book 3 and 4 of the Jane Series but it could be read really at any time and still make sense. However, the Jane Series is well worth the the time and one of my favorites series. Next Sunday and Monday Stephanie and I are reviewing this years Molly Harper releases – her Werewolf books. Since I have a “book of choice” today I thought I would take the opportunity to highlight Molly Harper’s other series, Vampires – The Jane Jameson Series, which has a new installment due out the beginning of next year. Both of her series are laugh out loud funny and the perfect stress relievers for the busy holiday season. This would be a great opportunity to get caught up on the series and be ready for the next Vampire book when it comes out this spring. The version I have is the audio version.

Her Vampire series starts with “Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs”. This series is based on the character Jane Jameson and follows her character throughout the entire series. So if you like Sookie books or the Cat and Bones series then this would be a fit for you.

Jane Jameson is a self-professed nice girl with a quick sense of humor and a passion for trivia. The story starts with her being fired by her beastly boss and handed a twenty-five dollar Shenanigans Gift Certificate instead of a severance check. With Shenanigans being her only choice for drowning her sorrows in the two light town of Half Moon Hollow she proceeds to try to come to terms with her miserable life of being an almost virgin, now former librarian over many, many Electric Lemonades. This is where she meets the tall, yummy stranger, Gabriel. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.

Upon awakening Jane has to come to terms with all the changes undead life has to offer, including how to tell her family. As Jane would say, “Thank God there is a hand book!” And after some strange occurrences around her it appears that someone is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. Luckily she has her faithful ever loyal friend Jeb and the new blessing of being able to see her recently deceased favorite aunt in her ghostly form to help her along the way. She quickly meets new friends in the vampire community and starts to find out that being undead isn’t that bad.

Ms. Harper does an incredible job making each character strong and funny. They work seamlessly together to create a fun cast that leaves the reader anxious to get to know more about each one of them. Although there is a nice plot that keeps the story going and there is the hope of a growing connection with Gabriel what really makes this series great is the humor and the interaction of the characters. Amanda Ronconi does the audio on all the Molly Harper books. She does an excellent job with the character voices and delivering the lines in a way that really brings Ms. Harper's comedic style to full light. If you haven't listened to audio before this is a great series to start with. The plot and characters are easy to follow and are perfect for grabbing a few minutes here and there while trying to deal with the crazy holiday season. Sneak a few minutes of laugh out loud stress relief in for yourself. Enjoy!

This series has been talked up so much that I had really high expectations for it. It's nice but I didn't see what the big deal was.

This is a great series and this one really sets the stage for all the books to come. I love everyone of these books. The narrator on this one is a bit slow and the parts where they get into the native language can drag a bit. Hence the four instead of 5 stars. But in hind sight, the speed ensures that you really catch everything since it is really necessary that you understand the characters so that later books make sense. And the characters are so intense that it helps you really get into the story. Definitely a must listen for romance fans!

This one is a close second to Sam's book. They went back to a female narrator and she does a nice job. I found the female characters way of speech a bit annoying but fitting to her character. Although I liked the characters they seemed a bit mismatched. The inclusion of Bella and Sam from book two occasionally helped make the book fun. Still a good book overall.

I enjoyed this one much more than Caine's book. The narrator was very good and I loved Bella's Character. This one makes you really want to stick with the series and learn more about the men of Hell's Eight.

I enjoyed this story but this was my first historical romance. The differences in relationship expectations in that time period made it a bit frustrating and hard to get into the characters. All in all a good story though.
