"really bad"
This thing has a horrible plot. The presentation isn't any better. Out of hundreds of Audio books this has to be the worst one I have ever bought.
"Good story and reader but the file has problems"
The Book was great but there are parts of it missing, and the trumpets are distracting.
"Slow start but overall great story"
I actually stopped listening after the first 30min, I thought it was poorly written and boring. Then I tried it again a few months later (because I didn't have anything else to listen to.
I am sure glad I gave it another chance, It really picked up and turned out to be a great listen. I am going to get the next one.
"Fun story that doesn't take itself too seriously."
If you liked the other three books of the series you will like this one.
"Good Story, Good reader....almost."
yes, the plot and charters are well done.
Yes, he does characters well. However He does not pause between scene changes. It can be confusing and take a moment to figure out that he has moved on to another character.
"Good book, I want the next one!"
I sympathize with the comments about the voices, However Roy Dotrice still does a good job and I enjoyed the story. If you like the other ones you will like this one.
"Fun listen, needs more action and less ranting."
This book is in a "blog" style. I am not sure that I liked that aspect of it.
Like every other blog I have read there are alot of (the characters) personal opinions that you may or may not agree with, I dont have a problem with that. What I didnt like was the fact that when he rants and tends to get off on side notes that I thought where boreing.
The story itself is interesting and this book has an excellent narrator.
His series with David Weber (March Upcountry is the first book) is much better.
"The kid from the movie Signs grew up"
Have you ever wondered what happened to the little kid from the movie Signs? This is him in his early 20's and he is just as synical and sarcastic as anyone else that age. Not that this book is a sequel or even the same kid, but it could be.
I thought this book was very entertaining
"The Narrator sounded Drunk!"
I think the Narrator must have taken a couple of shots every time he read this book. Have you ever listened to a drunk tell a long story with that slurred speech? If you enjoyed that then this is the book for you. Personally I would not recommend it.
Maybe if I took a few shots myself…………
I will try that and get back to you.

"Good story (not great) a little preachy"
I haven't read anything from Orson Scott Card that was quite like this before. Perhaps it is the fact that conspiracy theories are not my favorite Genre, but I didn’t really enjoy this book that much. The story was decent but there are a lot of authors who do this kind of story a lot better. And the Ideal logy that was being presented isn't something I completely agree with either.
While I too agree that we should not be so extremely left or right that we cannot see anything the other side is trying to show us. There does come a time when we have to stand up for what we believe in.
There I go assuming that I too know more than you do and feeling the need to preach my own "enlightened" theories, sorry.
This book was Just OK for me.
