  • Will They Ever Trust Us Again? Letters From the War Zone

American soldiers serve willingly. They risk their lives so the rest of us can be safe. The one small thing they ask is that they not be sent into harm's way unless it is absolutely necessary.

Amazon Customer says: "Ways You Can Support Our Troops"
    "Not a Must-Hear; a Need-Hear."
    Overall

Whether you agree or disagree with the war in Iraq, the words from the troops on the front lines in Iraq carry more weight than any Bush or Kerry rhetoric back home. If indeed you truly do support our troops, you should be open to - and want to - hear what they have to say. But be prepared: this is not easy listening for a person on either side of the Iraq debate.

  • 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America (And Al Franken is #37)

Bernard Goldberg takes dead aim at the America Bashers (the cultural elites who look down their snobby noses at "ordinary" Americans and detest so much of what this country is about); the Hollywood Blowhards (incredibly ditzy celebrities who think they're smart just because they're famous); the TV Schlockmeisters (including the one whose show has been compared to a churning mass of maggots devouring rotten meat); the Intellectual Thugs, and many more.

If all it takes nowadays to get a book published is to rant about 100 people you don't like and/or who don't like you, America really is screwed up. Which of course points to the one glaring omission from Mr. Goldberg's list: himself.
