In 1962, Don and Carol Richardson risked their lives to share the gospel with the Sawi people of New Guinea. Peace Child tells their unforgettable story of living among these headhunters and cannibals who valued treachery through fattening victims with friendship before the slaughter. God gave Don and Carol the key to the Sawi hearts via a redemptive analogy from their own mythology.

At 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State - and to do it alone. She had no experience as a long-distance hiker, and the trail was little more than “an idea, vague and outlandish and full of promise.” But it was a promise of piecing back together a life that had come undone.

What an adventure! Although the writer lacked motivation by my God, you could feel his presence throughout the book.
This book is one woman's success story and example to others, no matter what their problems to overcome.

England, 1959: Laurel Nicolson is 16 years old, dreaming alone in her childhood tree house during a family celebration at their home, Green Acres Farm. She spies a stranger coming up the long road to the farm and then observes her mother, Dorothy, speaking to him. And then she witnesses a crime.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

At times I couldn't wait for the story to be over but at other times it was compelling and interesting.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All the characters were equally portrayed, all equal.

Which character – as performed by Caroline Lee – was your favorite?

Probably Vivian was my favorite by this artist

Do you think The Secret Keeper needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I think Kate Morton is talented but she should try to shorten it a little.

    Any additional comments?

There were quite a few twists to the story but it took an awful long time to get to them
