I always like a story when characters from different backgrounds meet and find they have more in common than they think they ever would, and end up helping each other out. The "chemistry" (haha) between the characters was good and she did a good job writing, however I didn't give it more stars because I didn't like all the crude language in it, I understand why it did, but it is young adult and thought it was too much.
I loved this story line, the characters and flow. However, the girl narrator was sooo slow it almost ruined it for me, I increased the speed on her chapters and was a lot better. It was a bit of a pain because I liked the male narrator at regular speed so I switched back and forth between chapters, but helped me get through the book so it was worth it because I really enjoyed it the story
I couldn't even finish this book. It was slow to get the story going and bored me.
I was surprised I was bored with this book since I loved her other books. I did like the friendship the two characters had and was shocked by the twist at the end, which made it better for me, however it sill lacked for me.
I was not expecting that ending! I loved the book and the connection between the two characters but I don't think I will be getting the next book because of how it ended. That is why I only gave four stars.
It has been a while since I have enjoyed a book so much! The narrator, with his many accents amazed me. His delicious highlanders accent made me swoon over and over! The characters had chemistry, the story was captivating and the narrator was the icing on the cake! love love loved it!
I feel a bit weird that I didn't like this book since a lot of people have. I haven't even finished it. The story line was slow, I didn't get the chemistry of the two main characters. I was just waiting and waiting to see if I would like it more, I will finish it however I am not motivated too. bummer.
I have listened/read Julie Garwood books before and have really liked them. But this one I was expecting more out if it and was a little disappointed. Maybe it had to do with the narrator who I didn't enjoy on this one.
I liked this book enough to finish it, to see how it all played out, but did anyone else find her love interests roll in the book...a little..um..creepy?? I bought the series on a three for two sale so I will finish them all but I don't know what to think about it. I felt she should like the more human male, but I guess she isn't ALL human, so we shall see I guess. The narrator was ok but she did have a ten pack a day kind of voice.
This isn't my favorite one of her books but I got it because I have liked a lot of her books. It was just ok for me.
I didn't much care for the first one in this series. A bit cheezy and I didn't like main guy as much. I love this narrator with his deep voice and accents are fun to listen to. I liked the storyline and will listen again!
