Actually, it is Jennifer, not Michael. I enjoy a variety of books but am drawn to romantic historical fiction with a Christian message.

Is it possible that there exists an ancient mystery that holds the secret of America's future? That this mystery lies behind everything from 9/11 to the collapse of the global economy? That ancient harbingers of judgment are now manifesting in America? That God is sending America a prophetic message of what is yet to come? Before its end as a nation, there appeared in ancient Israel nine specific warnings and omens of national destruction - these same Nine Harbingers are now manifesting in America with profound ramifications.

I heard so much about this book, that I felt sure I would like it. Actually, I just could not get into it. My mind kept wandering and then I would have to relisten to parts of it. I have never finished the book. Jennifer

With her newfound single status and fear of being alone, Ellery buries herself in her artwork and paintings until one night she helps a mysterious intoxicated stranger get home safely. Little did she know the mysterious stranger is none other than CEO and millionaire Connor Black.

Incredibly gorgeous and insanely wealthy guy with control and commitment issues meets pretty young thing (who is also gorgeous but is not aware of it) . . . It was entertaining, but somewhat predictable. This was a BOGO deal so I did not mind. I did not feel it was worthy of a full credit.

In this best-selling novel, Patrick D. Smith tells the story of three generations of the MacIveys, a Florida family who battle the hardships of the frontier to rise from a dirt-poor Cracker life to the wealth and standing of real estate tycoons. The story opens in 1858, when Tobias MacIvey arrives in the Florida wilderness to start a new life, and ends in 1968 with Solomon MacIvey, who realizes that the land has been exploited far beyond human need.

I took a chance and got this book in a BOGO deal and it is fabulous. This historical fiction novel takes place from the around the1860s until the 1960s. Over the century, you follow three generations of the McIvey men. This story has humor, history and emotion. Beware, there are a few tear-jerking moments, but overall it has a good message. I also felt the ending was a little abrupt. Otherwise great!

This is an amazing, moving story that takes place during the Roman Empire, after the death of Jesus. Although fiction, the author gives a very interesting and insightful glimpse into this famous era of history. This is a Christian novel, but do not think this is a light read. There is violence, audultery, deceit and greed throughout the story. Francine Rivers does not sugar coat anything. She tells it like it is. I loved it!

Francine Rivers is one of America's favorite romance writers and a bestselling inspirational author. Her many heartfelt novels have won awards and the adoration of fans accross the country. In Redeeming Love, she retells the Biblical story of Hosea, setting it in the 1850s, amidst California's gold country.

Moving, thought-provoking, amazing! I absolutely loved this historical fiction novel. The author is extremely gifted in relating the biblical story of the prophet Hosea through fictional characters in the 1800's. This author doesn't sugar-coat it. She tells it like it is. She does not shield you from the evils of the world, but provides an insightful message. Ultimately, we are all selfish. Can we overcome those natural tendencies, and love others as Christ has loved us? . . . Forgive others as Christ has forgiven us? This book will make you think.

The time has come for one winner to be crowned. When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown - or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose - and how hard she'll have to fight for the future she wants.

I absolutely loved this series!!! I thought each book was fabulous! Through the trilogy, you will see America (the main character) grow, mature and make difficult decisions. Can she put the well-being of her country before her own desires? How will Maxen lead the country? Can he stand up for what he believes in? Can he stand up to his father? Very entertaining. Finished in 2 days. Eventhough it is short, it is well worth a credit!

When their small town falls to the Germans in the midst of World War II, Edouard’s portrait of Sophie draws the eye of the new Kommandant. Amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed this brilliantly written novel. This is a story of two women from different times and worlds who are both "left behind". The two stories of these women are connected by a painting. A painting, that to them, is priceless because of the connection it has to their husbands. Each woman must decide to what lengths she is willing to go to protect someone or something that she loves. Though at times tragic, this story will keep you on the edge of your seat. Enjoy!

Shouldering burdens beyond her years, McKenna tries to be the parent Robert needs, instead of the older sister he resents. In her compelling, beautifully crafted novel, New York Times best-selling author Marie Bostwick celebrates friendships old and new - and the unlikely threads that sometimes lead us exactly where we need to go. Christmas is fast approaching, and New Bern, Connecticut, is about to receive the gift of a new pastor, hired sight unseen to fill in while Reverend Tucker is on sabbatical. Meanwhile, Margot Matthews’ friend, Abigail, is trying to matchmake, even though Margot has all but given up on romance.
