This book was very entertaining but I felt like it just stopped. There was no ending, all these unanswered questions and it is over. The author just leaves so much to your own imagination. I felt disappointed and wanted at least another chapter.
This is a wonderful, inspirational, Christian novel. This book shows how our "mistakes" can turn into blessings if we put them in the hand of God. It begins with a teenage girl who has a baby and is forced to give the baby up for adoption. Once an adult, she begins to search for her child. This book was well-written, had lots of twists and turns and kept my attention. Excellent Read! Jennifer
A delightful surprise!!! I picked this book during one of the $4.95 deals and did not know what to expect. I loved it! This is an inspirational romance and mystery. It is actually two stories about two different women (one from 1912 and one from today). The story goes back and forth between the two stories, eventurally connecting these two women. I will definitely look for more books from this author. Jennifer
I loved it! I was hesitant to use a credit for this book because it was shorter than most, but it was well worth it! This is an amazing inspirational story of how God can take bad circumstances and turn them into good. You will see how God constantly reminds the young girl that he is near, by placing pennies in her path. I have had a similar experience with rabbits. Sounds crazy, but when I am overwhelmed or stressed and need encouragment, I often will see a small brown rabbit in someone's yard or on the side of the road. Jennifer
The narration was excellent, however I thought the beginning was a bit slow. The first half of the book is very depressing. So much pain and suffering for the main character, Summer. This might be a good book for someone who has lost a child. Overall it has a good message and was enjoyable, but I did not feel compelled to keep listening like. Jennifer
Well, I have been on a roll with great audio books. The last several books I have purchased have been 4-5 star books. Lynn Austin is probably my favorite author, so I knew I couldn't go wrong with one of hers. This is a well-written, Christian, historical romance that takes place during the civil war. After listening to this book, I actually felt ashamed to be southern. I empathized with the main character and her struggle to be a southerner engaged to a confederate soldier but believed in the North's cause. She believed, fought for and risked everything for the abolition of slavery. Caroline was a brave and remarkable woman. My only complaint was that it seemed to end abruptly and left some questions unanswered. Jennifer
This is a wonderful historic romance. This is the first book I have listened to from this author but I will definitely listen to more. I still find it hard to believe that slavery actually existed at one time. The history was fascinating while intertwined with a steamy romance. I especially liked that all the hot and steamy parts happened in the context of marriage. I enjoy Christian fiction, but often times I wish they would give a few more details. Overall, great book, very entertaining and uplifting. Jennifer
A bit on the short side, but still incredibly addictive. I finished in two days. Compelling, entertaining. Looking forward to the third book. We often think that the grass is greener on the other side. Both America and Maxen realize that they need to walk in the others shoes in order to fully understand the sacrifices that they will have to make. If you don't like cliff hangers then wait for the third book to be published before you start the series. Jennifer
This was a happy fairy tale version of the Hunger games. Totally addictive. I loved it!!! However, I just realized that I started a trilogy series where the third book has not been released. It is a must read for anyone who loves rags to riches stories. If you are a bit impatient like me, you may want to wait to start the series until book 3 has been released. Jennifer
I absolutely loved this book It was a wonderful historic romance. It shows how God can take unfortunate circumstances and create amazing blessings. A very entertaining listen. Uplifting. Jennifer
This was an encouraging and delightful story. I want to be more like Hope, the main character. She was so full of energy and always looked at the glass as half -full. She could find a blessing in any situation. Everyone could benefit from her example. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and finished it in 2 days. Jennifer
