This book was great !!! Strong suggest listening to it.

This book was very difficult to complete. It was just to unreal for me.

If I could give this book a rating from 1 to 10. It would definately be a 10. This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. It was a little hard to follow at first but it was well worth the wait. It had a very different touch to it. It was based in Dallas County, a familiar area to me. This is a great read. Running from our past and chasing our future.

It took me some time to get into this book. It it took me three week to listen to the entire book. It was slow in the begining. But the twist to this book was once I got though the beigining the middle picked up and then at the very end I could not put it down. I was a simple book and sometimes hard to follow, but I would recommend it for listening.

Getting started with this book was very slow for me. That should have been a clue to stop reading, because some how I could not. When the letters and prank call starts coming, I wanted to know, who is so mean to do something like this. You really want to know what kind of person would really go to this extreme. Thumbs up the narrator, the depiction between the characters voice help a lot in this book. I usually can figure out the ending of a story/book before time. But this one through me. I would have never have guessed that a child so young would do something so devious. I think I was so outdone…..Outdone by the fact that a grown woman would be so intrigue with a best friend child, she would go against the very things she did not want for here own child. The things that she allowed her friends child to do, was just outrageous.
In a way she got what she deserved.

This was a very good book. It was predictable, but it definitely captured my attention. Maybe it was the definition of the narrorators reading but needless to say it was a great book. I loved the characters in the book. So typical of any American family. It could have been your family or my family. Drug addiction and violence is not discrimatory to any race or gender. But it is typical in the human face when feeling are involved. It made you think" I know someone just like that. The ending was great. It was the twist in the story. A little unreal when the entire investigation of the muder took part. But it told the story of what a real loving parent would go through for the love of their child(ren)

This was a ok book to listen to. I enjoyed the narrators ability to differate between characters. This is probable the part than kept me listening. I would suggest listening to the book. But do not expect anything spectacular.

Most of the time I sit at my desk and listen to books to make it through the day while working. This book was down to earth and very easy to listen to. The readers voice kept you motivated to listen. So true to life for so many people not just African American. We struggle with decisions in choosing a partner and old baggage that we carry with us for years.

I have read and listened to several books by E. Lynn Harris and they have been good books. However this one I did not personally like. It did not capture my attention. The mono tone of the reader made it very difficult to distinuish between characters and it was very boring.

This book was absolutely wonderful. I loved it. I could not put it down. Most of the books I've listened to are at work so it could pass the the day while I am working. After listening to it from work, I would go home and re-listen to certain parts. I writer made me feel as if I was sitting right there on the sceen. I guess you can add some credit to the reader of this book, they added character and dept to the book as you listened. I would strong recommend this book.
