Depth to the characters.
The story was interesting and the characters had depth. There were pieces that drug a bit but the book was more good than bad.
I cant believe with all that great writing it ended with a whimper. Really left me borderline angry that I got involved in reading it. It's like have a rich dessert that you are willing to risk the calories on because it's such a work of art and all the layers bring bursts of flavor. Then suddenly you bite into something that nearly breaks a tooth. Then the rest of the dessert just melts into mush while you're still trying to figure out what happened.
I was intrigued by the premise and at first it was entertaining but I was not happy with the way it finished.
This was very long and if you're looking for an escape to another land and time it's entertaining. But it takes awhile to gain any intrigue, almost half the book.
This trilogy ate up a week of my life. Again I accidentally was sucked into a young adult genre and couldn't put it down. Yet I read them just to get to the end and resolve all the miserableness that was generated in the first two books.
Didn't expect it to be a young adult book but it did hold my interest and was a nice break from other genres.
It was an okay read a distraction that didn't need great attention but not a recommend.
Fantastic book. So well written. I past this and The Book Thief forever. I just kept skipping over them. I read the Book Thief which was amazing and then bought this. I had thought they were on the same topi, I have no idea why. They aren't in any way similar. This book I gobbled right up and was so sorry to have it end.
This book had an interesting premise and was very engaging. I couldn't put it down. Great struggle in decision making and doing what is "right".
The end got weird and drawn out. It's pretty obvious how it will end and VERY obvious within the last two hours. Which was okay until the last 45 minutes when it just drug out.
This is a good book. It goes on and on a bit but left me hanging on to see how it ended. There's enough intrigue to keep you listening. I was not a fan of the narration, well, not of the male parts. I disagree with the other listeners and think she made the fatal mistake when doing male voices when trying to go deep it through off the cadence and was slow and drawn out. This in the past has made books to annoying to listen to. This wasn't that bad.
