The beginning of the book is quite slow and focuses exclusively on Darth Plagueis as the title suggests it will for the entire book.
Until you hit Chapter 9 when a young Palpatine is introduced and the book turns into his rise to power more than anything else.
Luceno ties Palpatine's story into the narrative of Episode 1 and explains the back story of Dooku and Sifo Dyas as well how Palpatine came upon Darth Maul.
Honestly this book is a fan boys dream. Well worth it.
I enjoyed Susan Cain's TED talk and decided to pick this up to hear her elaborate on the topic of introverts.
As I am one myself I was curious as to where the scientific community where in their understanding of the subject.
Susan obviously is extremely biased in her praise for introversion but does attempt to balance her opinions out with warnings throughout the narrative.
Those that are introverts will enjoy listening to this as there will be many "ah ha" moments for them.
"Know thyself" is one reason alone to pick this up.
Congressman Paul makes a compelling argument for abolishing the "Federal" Reserve, not by ranting and raving about conspiracies but by giving the listener a sincere thought, showing how the Federal Reserve has been directly responsible for the booms and busts that America has experienced since its adoption in 1913.
All Ron Paul supporters will enjoy this book of course, however I would recommend anyone with economic leanings (which should be everyone) to give this book serious consideration.
It is good ideas that make this nation great. We have been living really bad ones for a very long time.
I have nothing personally against Gandhi. I unfortunately purchased this book thinking it would focus more on the political events of his life but instead was centered more around his experiments with celibacy and eating nothing but fruits to name a few topics that are covered.
I still have great respect for the Ghandi's accomplishments but I'm just not interested in his philosophical reference, more the actual events that occurred because of him.
