Darwin8u says: "A NEAR Perfect Novel."
    "enjoyable well-written"
    Overall

This is not a "page-turner" but is a well paced, well written novel. The narration is somewhat confusing at times with miss-placed accents but one gets used to it.

    "great writing poor ending"
    Overall

This book did not disappoint. The writing was wonderful, narration excellent and the story had some interesting developments. I like slow paced books that envelop the reader. This is one of those books. However, the ending was not satisfying and seemed rushed. Perhaps a deadline was looming.

  • Faceless Killers: A Kurt Wallander Mystery

It was a crime of senseless violence. On a cold night in a remote Swedish farmhouse, an elderly farmer was bludgeoned to death, his wife left to die with a noose around her neck. As if this didn't present enough problems for Ystad police inspector Kurt Wallander, the dying woman's last word, his only tangible clue, were foreign. If publicized, they could be the match that would inflame Sweden's already smoldering anti-immigrant sentiments.

    "great writing good listen"
    Overall

This book was well written so listening to it was so enjoyable. It was not a fast-paced book but the writing and time taken to develop the characters made the book a good listen. No problem with the narrator.

Teenager Jacob Hunt has Asperger’s syndrome. A forensic science wizard, he follows his scanner to show up at crime scenes and give law enforcement officials his advice.

Charlotte says: "Great book until the ending"
    "repetition is too much"
    Overall

I usually hate abridged books so making a recommendation to abridge a book is a hard one for me. However, I found that this book spent too much time reworking subplots that had already been told. The writing was engaging enough to continue to listen but I found myself hitting the fast forward but button on occasion. A good listen while hanging out in the garden, walking or driving but definitely not a page turner.

    "A literary gem!"
    Overall

Listening to this book is so intense you do not want to rush through it. It is a series of stories that unfold like a string of iridescent pearls. I cannot wait to finish listening so I can start at the beginning again. Give this book the time it deserves. It is a literary masterpiece.
