Hated, hated, hated the southern accent. OMG! Horrible! And please let Nick do something worse than hang up his clothes. He is too good to be true even for a romance novel. I am starting to hate him! I have read and listened to all these books, and I need a more flawed hero! I actually like Sam, but I can't see her with Nick. They are turtle doves!UGH!
I didn't care for this "innocent" heroine. It could be the story or the horrible voice used by the narrator. Don't waste a credit. Buy One Man's Art by the same author and narrator but is so much better than this one.
Three downloads for the book-18 hours of listening, but worth my time. It was an interesting story. I did not fall in love with the hero although I feel he was a man of his time, but as a speech pathologist, I found the story interesting. I have had patients with the anger and frustrations of not being able to communicate. I also understood the religious struggle. I just felt, overall, that I didn't love them as a couple as much as I do other romantic couples. Not a re-listen for me, but it was enjoyable.
I love the narrator so pretty much buy books based on that and not the author so much. This was a little to graphic for me. I don't need to have pages describe the sex act between characters. This book is not subtle. It wasn't for me, but many will enjoy it.
Loved all of the plotlines and the dialogues. Nick and Scotty were less perfect which works for me.
My favorite narrators are Julie Whelan, Luke Daniels, Susan Erickson, and Kealeo Griffith. They are the standard for narration for me. If the narration isn't good, then the book falls flat. I didn't know this narrator, but this series was in recommendations on audible and amazon so I decided to give it a try. It was an ok story with an ok narrator.
The story, and the narrator were great combination. Happy ending to a great series.
Not interesting to me. I think this magical sister concept should have ended with the first series. Now we have magical brothers, sisters of the heart, biological magically sisters in one tiny town.Too much.
I have read all of the In Death books. I really loved the first one and I really felt this one was as powerful. It is worth the credit.
Recycled plot from Seduction In Death and Innocent In Death with sex on the brain. A man who seduces or drugs women at work, the innocent, naive woman who gets caught in his trap, the worldly woman who lies about her relationship with the victim. Roarke and Eve so in love with themselves that gets old. Nothing new and different about this book. I have given up on Maya Bank's KGI series. I am going to buy Obession in Death, but if it is a recycled plot from 20 books ago, I am done.
Good book. I have enjoyed the series very much. I look forward to next book.
