I have listened to multiple self help books, this was a waste of money, very short little vignettes in monotone voice.
I absolutely loved this book, definitely kept my attention. Although the plot was predictable the story-telling depicts vivid emotion of tragedy amidst an ordinary life.
The narration in this audiobook was superb. The story was engaging, although a bit long, it took me almost a month of commuting to complete it. Vivid descriptions by the author paint vivid scenes of a grand backdrop and a twisted family tale. Would recommend this.
Although Jonathan Franzen is one of the hot authors right now, I was disappointed in this book. Details of the characters lives droned on and on, and I dislike the vulgarity throughout the book. Long, i finished it, but would not recommend to others.
