I like being able to listen while doing other things, BUT ended several dozen miles up the wrong road with little gas and no map in the middle of the night once so intent were we both listening.
I liked the book, but my husband did not although he likes the series better than I. This book is a bit crazier than those that came before . . . and the series is a bit nutty already.
The exploits of the family always make me laugh. I know if my family actually did some of what Meg's family does, I would be on the first plane out of there.
While the books are rather light, Meg and family keep me entertained. I WANT her family - from Dad through Rose and all the relatives. Mom is a bit trying, but I'll take her too Always waiting for the next installment of the doings of this family Wait a sec! Lets let the twins stay in fiction.
I think Virgil has been fleshed out a bit more and has become more of a person.
I have only heard him in the other Virgil Flowers, and he has become the "voice" of Virgil in my head.
What place is Ma going to play in future Virgil Flowers novels? Only the author knows, and even he might not. The book left me wondering if Ma would become #4.
The use of real historical characters let me figure out who did it. I am not a fan of period novels, and this one was no exception to my normal aversion. The "real" people were not always portrayed as I think they should have been, and many of the fictional people were not very believable.
No, while the earlier book were "light & rather cute." this one was just tediouwl
No! I can't imagine this as a movie. The story world not hold my attention.
I wasn't sure where this series was going to go, but I did not expect a "rogue" emissary. Better that the rogue stayed away. This is the last of this series I will bother with.
Lots of Dogs.
I liked the way the stories of the different dogs were woven into the story. I think that a bit more of the story could have focused on the trip.
Oh yes. While Dead Ever After didn't live up to my idea of A FINAL SOOKIE, I know I shall listen again. In a year or two I will probably listen to the entire series from start to finish.
This is Spenser. This is Parker - well not quite but close enough.
Joe Mantegna has been the voice of Spenser; he is Spenser.
Bo! I wanted to parse it out so it would last.
Where is Hawk?
This is the first book in the series; I had read the others but somehow missed this one. It filled in gaps in the backstory by introducing the other characters who appear in all or most of the later books.
Yes, but it would help to have read at least some of the earlier works to be grounded and know who the players are.
I like George Guidell's voice and the inflections. He is one of the "old guard" but does it best. I could listen to the dictionary if narrated by George.
This one is a little different than the books that came before - not bad, not good just different. The subject may have been done before, but it is still appropriate for the area.
